Palm Springs is not a terrible place to have a conference... but you hit one of the last weeks that it's still reasonable till about November.

I was a CPA, and most quit wearing suits in the 80s/90s. I did consulting work for manufacturing companies, and had to talk my way into engagements so I still wore a suit.
