All right guys and gals it’s time to fire up the VolNation internet radio show and podcast, Get InVOLved. This page will be the permanent reference guide for instructions and links to the show.

What exactly is Get InVOLved? It’s an online radio show that you can listen to live or at any time during the week. Larkin and myself will be hosting but the main focus of the show will be the callers. We want to hear from you. There will be a couple of different ways that you can call into the show and get on the air. More on that later.

How do I listen to the show?
1. The easiest way to listen to the show is with this embedded media player below. It will show “On the Air” when we start broadcasting and all you have to do is click play. You will need to leave this window open or click “detach” on the player to open it in a new window.

The downside of this is that you cannot use the chat room during the show.

2. The other way to listen to the show is by going to our chat room. Here you will be able to listen to the show and view the comments of the people in the chat room. You will need to register for a now live account at http://www.nowlive.com/ if you wish to be able to post in the chat room. Click on the “login” link in the upper right hand corner of the page and you can enter your information and register. I suggest doing this before the show starts as you will most likely need to validate your email address. There are also other numbers listed here that you can call in to. You are welcome to check and see if there is a local number in your area. To see this list of phone numbers click on the phone icon on the right side of the page.

How to I call into the show and get on the air?
1. The first way you can call into the show is by calling 201-661-7217. Be advised that long distance charges may apply based on your location and or phone plan. You will be prompted to press 2 on your phone’s keypad to call an existing show and then you will need to press the show id number which is 224802. Once you have completed that you will be asked to press 1 to go live on the show. Now, when you first enter the show you will be able to hear us talking but you will not be able to be heard until we un-mute you. When we will ask for your name when we un-mute your call. One issue is that, as a caller, you will not know if we are speaking to you or another caller. Our solution for this, for now, is when you give us your name we will respond to you by name so that you know you are on the air.

2. The other way to call the show is by using google talk. If you have google talk installed on your computer and have speakers and a microphone, you can call the show that way. We aren’t providing any technical support at this time beyond the basic directions. Follow the directions in #2 above and click on that same phone icon. On the next screen, you will enter your google talk id and press call the show. You should receive an incoming call to your google talk and you will be on hold waiting to be on the air.
