Kiffin is subject of cover story by Men's Journal GoVolsXtra

This explains a lot..... Here's the clip I'm referring to...

“I could sit here and say, ‘Why did Oakland happen? Why did leaving Tennessee cause the trouble it did?’ Those things happened to prep me for this, to be a stable manager in a crisis. My model was Obama and his coolness under fire, the confidence he projects during disaster.”

Stable manager??!?!? As in Horse stable maybe..... Get 'Yo shovel ready boys.....

GOD dont make this into a Obama bashing site... I forgot how right wing this fanbase is... lets just stick to football and not about issues you oviously have no clue about. bc if you did you would realize obama has had more to deal with in his first term in office than pretty most any other president. cough cough not to mention he is trying to clean up what 8 years of republican rule will do to the country...

Typical bed-wetting lib. Do as I say, not as I do. You tell us to keep it on football, then go onto your liberal talking points about how wonderful Obama really is even though the country is falling apart.

Kiffin sucks, Obama blows, and you need a knuckle sandwhich.

Nobama and Kiffin do have something else in common. More people in the country dislikes them then likes them.

Obama has had to deal with things that he created.
Obama less qualified to be Prez than any other president in history and it shows...he knows nothing...rams obamacare down our throat which well over 70% of Americans don't want...just for one...
oh and the other....supporting the mosque at ground zero..reprehensible.....worse even than when he let another foreign leader come to congress and bash one of the States Obama is the supposed leader of and his council and lib friends in congress gave him standing ovation.
anyway...you are the one that has no clue.. I could give you 100 pages of lessons on why you are wrong but I will leave this thread now as it is clear..you are irrational at best:unsure::peace2:

Kiffin is much more like Dick Cheney. A myopic idiot that would sell his own family out (Reaves = Cheney's daughter) than adjust his beliefs and agenda to fit his own reality. Family values mean nothing to some.

I think this belongs in the political forum.

Anyway, I don't see how any of this matters. Kiffin and Obama couldn't care less what Tennessee thinks of them. Kiffin doesn't coach here anymore, and the south in general is too uneducated to see the long term strategy Obama has started installing.

Its long term alright...its called Socialism. Let's see how many people we can get on the govt tit, require them to have no stake in the game (i.e. taxes) and suck the life out of the producing class until we're all broke and miserable. What a plan...

I see, so since you trust Obama and his idiocy, you are far more educated than us backwards Southern folk. You should enlighten us on all the wonderful and magical things our fearless leader has planned for the country.

That is absurd, totally absurd. What cave have you been sleeping in for the last several years, but especially during the debacle of the last 18+ months under this radical Marxist?

If you think about it Kiffin and Obama are very similar and so was how they were hired. Both guys are considered young and charismatic with nice looking families. We know that Obama is great job interviews, apparently Lane is also. Everybody loved both of them at the beginning of their tenure not because of who they were but because of who they weren't. Kiffin was a hit here because he was the opposite of Phil Fulmer and the UT fan base needed to be inspired and have a fire lit underneath it no matter what the cost. The same could be said for Obama and the American people. People wanted something different from George W. Bush no matter what the cost. Phil Fulmer was fired November 3rd. and Obama was elected the very next day. Pretty crazy that all this happened around the same time.

If you want go further into it Kiffin was schooled in college coaching and recruiting and was considered to be an up and comer at USC, which is considered to be the dirtiest program in the country. Obama was brought up to be a rising star in Chicago politics, which is considered the dirtiest and most corrupt city government in the US. Both of them got their positions based on potential alone, certainly not because they had accomplished anything in prior positions. Kiffin hires staff members with questionable past and questionable ethics and morals, Ed Orgeron. Obama gives positions to people with very questionable past and ethical issues, Van Jones the Green Jobs Czar.

It is quite amazing how far a little flash goes w/o any susbstance to back it up and how many people can fall for it. Myself included.

It's really sad there are people in this country so easily led and delusional. Like Ca_Vol said, what he's attempting to install is a socialist society.

This thread reminds me that, while I miss living in East Tennessee, I don't miss the rabid, often mindless and reactionary, right wing politics. It also doesn't matter if Obama ends the deficit, cures cancer and finds a way to make humans fly, that right wing (notice I didn't say radical, because I actually know what a radical is) faction decided in 2008 they will never be happy with him and never will......"but, but, but.....he's a socialist." I'm not sure most even knows what that means other than it's some kind of mantra allowing someone to safely hate Obama without thinking about it.

And don't even get me started on the McCarthyistic response to the ridiculous mosque deal.
