The Steve Lavin Era has officially begun. It's not a real Lav tenure until you lose at home to a team you should beat by 20.

Yeah, we all knew this was gonna be a terrible hire.

It's probably gonna be a long, long time before St. John's basketball is relevant again.

I don't necessarily agree. He'll recruit brilliantly. If he doesn't get it done, he'll leave it loaded for the next guy.

Not so sure about that. You can already see where his recruiting efforts are paying off. They will by no means become world beaters, but they will be relevant again in the next few seasons.

Isn't St John's in the heart of NYC? It can't be too difficult to recruit there with a halfway competent coach.

now all they have to do is back into a ncaa bid and then make a sweet 16 run.

St. John's is getting exactly what they deserve. They were getting back on track with Fran Fraschilla 12 years ago and they fired him over a bunch of BS. What's happened since is nothing but karma biting them in the butt.
