We didn't and wouldn't, ever, offer $5 mil.

Nor should they, but in hindsight I'm sure strong didn't contemplate getting offered a Texas job with that kind of money ...regardless of the outcome he had an offer to coach at tenn in the sec with the program history facilities tradition and he stayed in The American conference and Louisville..now he can go to Texas from what it seems...so at the end of the day he turned down UT for ut is all I was saying

Charlie Strong didn't want to leave Louisville as long Teddy Bridgewater was there.

It is interesting to see that media outlets no longer seem to bother with confirming facts as opposed to striving to be the first with the pseudo news. This link indicates that Strong has not officially been offered the position:

"Louisville coach Charlie Strong has not been formally offered the head coaching job at Texas but would accept it if he was, a source told ESPN's Brett McMurphy on Friday night. Another source told McMurphy that Strong said he has not accepted the Texas job, but wants to talk to Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich and university president James Ramsey. Horns247 reported earlier Friday that Strong would be Texas' next coach" (Charlie Strong of Louisville Cardinals expected to take Texas Longhorns job - ESPN).

Note: In a video linked to this article, Orangebloods.com writer Chip Brown cites Strong and James Franklin as two finalists but perhaps not the only ones; he still did not categorically rule out Art Briles.

Seems like Texas has offered Strong but they wanted to hear from him before saying they have officially offered. Guess they don't want anyone else to publicly reject their offer.

is that sarcasim. The ville is way better of a job then duke.

So your going to leave a team just finally hitting there stride after years of building it from the ground up for a team in a weaker conference and with its best player leaving for the NFL?
