If they're right, UGA would be foolish to pass him up.

Because there was no prayer with Tech.

Tech was good enough to make the tournament more often than not during Coach Knight's tenure there. Billy Clyde did inherit a team that went winless the year before he arrived in College Station.

Clearly BCG is one of the better coaches out there.

At some point losing to USCe has to mean more than recruiting a 13 year old for me to claim him such a great coach. At least his alcohol problems seem to have faded away.

What's BCG's record against the Sainted Bruce Pearl?

You think I would even put Pearl within sniffing distance of the great coaches category?

If beating undisciplined teams that struggle defensively is the current benchmark for great coaches, I need to add a lot of coaches to my list.

his trail from UTEP to a&m to KY is impressive, regardless how you cut it.

That doesn't make him a great coach though. It is way too early to call him a bust, but he has lost way too many games at UK that shouldn't have even been close. I would love to see UK succeed this month so they can go dancing and wind up with Minnesota as an eventual dancing partner

I would be fairly confident in saying that BCG will have his team in a Final Four within the next 3 years.

Thanks for bringing so much information to the discussion. I will go ahead and add that I am fairly confident the world will not end in 2012.

Well, I guess if it does, neither of us will be around to argue about who was right.

I wouldn't.

You probably also wouldn't have agreed that he'd have an 18 win improvement from his first year at UTEP to his second year.

You probably also wouldn't have agreed that he would have inherited an A&M team that had went 7-24 the previous year including 0-16 in the Big 12 and within four years would receive 2 coach of the year awards and a Sweet 16 appearance.

I never said he wasn't a good coach. But betting on someone making a final four is a bit ridiculous. Especially with the way the tournament is. But that's ok, you continue to think you are a miniature Hat.

:eek:lol:

Not really, just a sane sports fan that's willing to accept reality.

And when his current team gets to host a game for it's postseason tournament, will he get another coach of the year?
