College Gameday Has A Suggestion For Unlocking Joe Milton's Full Talents

Don't understand why everyone is try to move Milton to a different position. He's going to have one of (if not THE) strongest arms in the NFL. Even if he doesn't make it as an NFL starter (and he may very well), I can see him having a great career as an NFL backup QB.

Can Kentucky go “Schiano” on Pope?

Pope is a good coach, but this is a very underwhelming hire for them. 2 NCAAs in 4 years at BYU; which is pretty much on par with BYU's historical track record. This might be one of those where they regret chasing off Cal. And it's pretty insane that a large portion of the fanbase didn't think...

    SEC locations

Agree with this. NW Arkansas is underrated. Difficult for me to rate all the cities, since I haven't been to all, and even some of the ones I have been to, I haven't spend that much time in (e.g. Oxford, Starkville, Auburn). But if I had to rate, I'd probably go: 1. Austin 2. Nashville 3...

    Kentucky Officially Offering Dan Hurley

Difference is Bama could match anything Texas offered. UConn may not be able to match UK. Also, Saban closer to retirement, whereas Hurley still has a good 1-2 decades left.

Thoughts on the hire of Kim Caldwell

I trust Danny White. Maybe that's a cop-out, but he's shown repeatedly he knows what he's doing. Caldwell has a great record, but lacks D-1 experience, but White sees something in her that he didn't see in other candidates, and that's good enough for me. The real question IMO is going to be...

    Never happened until tonight

Exactly this! They played good D, but we had a lot of wide open 3's that we missed. They were "good shots", but couldn't knock them down. I was more frustrated with some of our mid-range shots than the 3's. Felt like we took too many low-quality mid-range shots, rather than taking our time...

    Never happened until tonight

Every year, it seems like we get knocked out of the tournament due to 1 poor shooting night. That was a historically bad shooting night and we still won on pure grit. Amazing! Hoping that's our "1 bad shooting game" for the tournament. If we shoot well, we have a shot against anyone.

    Bleacher Report Does Us Dirty

Bleacher Report did this NSD roundup and threw in this stupid blurb. Not going to post the link to deny them of clicks. So stupid. Literally everyone is doing the same things we've done, we did not violate any rules, and a Federal court told us we were very likely to win any case on the matter...

NLRB Rules College Athletes are EMPLOYEES

The problem with this is that it's actually complicated. There's no way a NCAA rower or volleyball player is an "employee". Neither men's nor women's rowing is a profitable enterprise and the schools are spending to allow students to do these activities. It's really only football and men's...

    Tennessee, Virginia AG's Sue NCAA

That's my thought, too. Florida, Texas, Michigan, and Georgia may be very eager to jump in, as well. Several states would probably be wise to do so, too. Mississippi stands out. The NCAA would love to go after Kiffin. Better to join TN and VA and head the NCAA off at the pass.

    John Majors at Iowa State

Exactly this! Majors obviously would've been the best hire, but it's very much a hindsight thing. He was still only 35 years old and hadn't succeeded at Iowa State yet. At the time, Battle's resume probably looked better, having coached under Dickey.

    John Majors at Iowa State

Obviously, Tennessee should've hired Johnny Majors when Dickey left, but I wouldn't slight Battle. Battle was a brilliant offensive coach and he sustained Dickey's success for 3 more seasons. Ultimately, the problem was he was too young for HC, struggled with recruiting, and needed more...

How many SEC teams make the 12 team playoff? Which ones?

    3. Not because there shouldn't be more, but because the committee will opt to give teams with fewer losses against weak competition many of the spots in the name of "fairness". For instance, this year's Liberty team; their 4 toughest opponents (before bowl game) and their Sagarin ratings: #82...

If Harbaugh leaves do we go after any Michigan players?

Makes zero sense that Brian Kelly would leave Notre Dame to go to LSU only to then go to Michigan. Most likely Michigan promotes the OC.

The Transfer Portal is Making the Recruiting Rankings Less Relevant

The recruiting rankings have always been flawed to some extent, but we know factually that teams that had higher rankings have tended to perform better than teams that didn't. It's far from a perfect correlation, but the relationship stood true for much of that 2000 - 2020'ish period. Now, I...
