Sam’s tweets seem odd considering the lack of success the teams had recruiting, but the portal has been their saving grace so I guess I understand. She won’t be retained no matter who the hire is so it’s all moot.

I don't blame her and applaud her effort this year to get back out there and contribute. I wish her nothing but the best with her career and health as she moves on in life.

Almost no team is immune from the portal. Some players will leave UT and pretty much every other program. Some will surprise and disappoint. I've no inside knowledge of anything but just the way the world works. I'd love to see the sit out year return but that's gone forever.

Elzy seems like a good person who did her best but wasn't able to meet the expectations for the department. I believe she was also let go by HW after the season where the team landed only one recruit who wasn't up to standards. I hope she lands on her feet wherever she winds up.
