I hate when losers start threads with whiny, sometimes trollish, titles that we are all gonna have to stare at for the next few days..
Even good people who never click on this stupid thread are going to have to put up with its negativity.
Ah well.
Go Vols!
GOAT is GOAT is GOAT. The "all time" in the phrase ensures that it endures. Definition does not change with changing conditions.
Just because today's lads CAN move schools every year if they wish, that doesn't mean they have to. It's their choice, the good ones. 100% their choice.

OP, the difference between Bama-Vandy-Ky and Bama-Vandy-USCe/FL is really, really minor. Gotta put it in context. For instance:

I didn't know you had to sign up to join the Air Force. I thought it was just an interview and "you start Monday." You know, kinda like at Starbucks or the grocery store. :)
Go Vols!
Heh, I honestly thought the "no ragrets" was a big enough *wink* to make the blue font unnecessary. Yes, I was teasing both the OP (Air Force) and the target of his comments (Marine Corps).
Go Vols!
p.s. Served with a lot of Redhorse and Seabees over the years as an Army Engineer. We may...

Never apologize, never let up, no ragrets!
Go Vols!
That's half untrue.
If you follow the timeline I linked above, you'll see that Tennessee had the most wins of any program in the SEC, surpassing Alabama, in the 2005 to 2008 window. We passed Bama in 2005, and held the lead until 2009 when Bama passed us back.
And while Steve Spurrier at...
I think SEC schedules have never been, and will never be, perfectly balanced. Often, not even close.
I mean, look at poor Florida's schedule this year. Murderer's row. Certainly not balanced. No other team wants to touch what they have to face.
Plus, things are constantly moving. Who knew...
Yah, I found that interesting, as well.
Can't off the top of my head imagine a scenario where they would change things around. Possibly the scenario you said, like if one team wins the conference title three years running and all three of their permanent opponents are soft as butter? But...
Yep, I read your post in its entirety. Much of it was based on the first flawed premise, but the other parts, I agreed with. I do think you were going kind of in the right direction, that the SEC front office did somewhat try to inject balance into the divisions (among other considerations...
This part isn't true, man.
In 1992, when the divisions were formed, Florida was nowhere near the top 6 in conference. At that point in history, VANDY had more "traditional power" than Florida. So did Ole Miss. So did newcomer Arkansas. It looked like this:
The conference may have divided...
