Bro... HIPAA applies to medical professions with access to his records. Discussing speculation surrounding his condition on an Internet forum is not a violation of HIPAA in any way.
For me the question isn't who is STILL being considered. It's who IS ACTUALLY being considered. We don't know that anyone has even definitively been interviewed. Just rumors and grumors so far.
HIPAA is for healthcare institutions, not university athletic departments. The players are patients of a doctor, not the school. If a university spokesperson says "So and so tore their ACL" that does not violate HIPAA.
Not trying to sound like an ass but this is incorrect. Alzheimer's definitely is fatal. It is a progressive neurological disorder that eventually causes everything to just shut down. Sure, other things can happen but this disease kills people every day.
There are other ways to do cardio besides running. Linemen don't run anyway. Their conditioning is based around high impact interval training which can be done on bikes and elliptical machines which are much less harsh than sprints and plyometric exercises. With them it's all about short bursts.
