"I don't think I would enjoy having the most fans out there," Busch said. "I actually like the way I am and the role I portray. I think that there's probably too much pressure on one guy's shoulders who doesn't seem to win very often."

love it.

Kyle Busch wins Sprint Cup race at Bristol Motor Speedway - ESPN

"I told the ladies to 'Man up, get the job done on the last stop,' which they did," Busch said. "I'm proud of them for doing that. When the time mattered most, they got the job done."

"Those guys should hang their head for [Saturday], but then wake up the next morning rejuvenated and ready to go."

Please tell me nobody actually pulls for this douche!

Posted this in the "Who do you pull for" thread. Should have waited 5 more minutes.

No, but seriously, who is he calling a lady?

The most satisfying thing for me in the year 2008...his EPIC failure in the chase to end the season. Classic!

Kyle Busch has figured out the benefits of being the villain. It's the same thing that Kiffin knows, bad press is better than no press.

Not to sound like I'm defending the guy, but do we really think he was doing anything other than joking/messing around with his crew when he referred to them as ladies?

That will continue to happen until he realizes the season doesn't start until the chase begins. Jimmie and Chad figured it out real quick, run good enough to stay in the top 12, take notes on what works during the season and balls to the wall once the chase starts.

He was messing with them for sure. I just don't understand why he gets so bent out of shape over a Nationwide race for a pit road mistake. If he really wants to be pissed, give him a ride of the quality that Bobby Hamilton Jr. would get and see how he feels.

Reason #2,346 the Chase blows.

I'm positive he was kidding with them. Just don't say it to the press so that it gets printed on ESPN. Say whatever you want TO them, just not about them to the public.

My point was, he calls them ladies while he continues to whine like a school boy b*tch

umm...because he's a race car driver, he wants to win, and that mistake prevented him from doing so.

ummm...... so is every other driver out there and most man up and take the results as they happen. My point was not to question his competitiveness, I'm sure all drivers get pissed when they lose a race like that but it's the fact that he isn't man enough to keep his emotions in check and grin and bear it, especially for a Nationwide race. I would give him a little more slack if it happened in the Sprint Cup, hence the reason I made a point to bring up that it was only a Nationwide race.

he was pissed off and rightfully so. his team cost him the win. i'm sure he won't be the last driver to ever get mad over a mistake made by his team. big deal.

the series he was racing in matters not.

You're right, he did have a right to be pissed off, I said as much in my last post, all drivers would be. My point was about how he handled the situation afterward not the situation of the pit itself. He won't be the last driver to get mad at the team but most drivers choose to address it behind closed doors and away from the media. The series does matter because it's a second tier division to the Sprint Cup so he should be able to hold his emotions in check a little better in that division than the one that matters most. If it is equally important than ask all the drivers which division they would prefer a championship in.

ask any driver and they will tell you they would be just as competitive driving a Bandolero around the infield quarter mile track at Charlotte as they are driving a Cup car.

the series doesn't matter.

they all want to win any time they set foot in a race car. and they want to win bad, hence the emotions that sometimes come out.

period.

Again, I am not questioning Kyle Busch's competitiveness. I know he wants to win just like every other driver on the track. I am questioning why he would get on his crew like that in front of all of us. He could be just as competitive, be just as mad and tell the guys at the shop on Tuesday. The series does matter in this argument in a sense that the Sprint Cup is his full time job, he might be just as competitive behind the wheel of a Nationwide car but if something happens, than at least it didn't happen in the Sprint Cup race should be his attitude.

Look at my first post in this thread, I have nothing against his personality because he can cash in as the villain. Many fans are attracted to that and with more fans comes more money, sponsorship, etc. But...he should keep that to calling out other drivers, other teams, not his own. I have no problem with him firing shots at Jr., I love a good rivalry even though Jr. can't deliver as much on the track. I just think he should refrain from throwing his team under the bus to the media. We can see for ourselves that they dropped the ball, we don't need Kyle telling us. He is acting like his teammate Hamlin.

Outside of perhaps Harry Gant, every driver that has had some form of success since the 90s has ripped his pit crew including Gordon, Little E, Senior and even Mark Martin and Rusty Wallace. As doozer said they just want to win.

As for hating on Jr, I'm not doozer but for me it has nothing to do with his legions of fans, it has to do with the fact that he just isn't very good.

I just hate all the heat he gets for his emotions. If Dale Jr was to get all upset its him showing "passion for what he does" but if Kyle does it he's whinning and acting like a baby. Kyle Busch is the most exciting person to watch on the track. I liked watching him trying to come back up through the field!

Kyle Busch is a jerk personality wise, but a damned fast jerk. If I had a choice of drivers to put in my car (if I had one), he would be on top of the list. I agree with 615 that crew issues are best handled in private. But some guys want to win more than others, Stewart, Dale Sr., DW, Edwards, and most are not the nicest guys around. What matters, winning or being a nice guy?
