This hasn't been tested yet but which PLAYOFF teams haven't been conference champions? Your head's stuck in BCS logic.

I know they claim the championship is the biggest criteria but I have a hard time believing 49-10 will be pushed under the rug without a rematch. I know I damn sure would vote Bama getting in at 11-1 over us at 11-2 if A&M beats Bama this week if I was on the committee.

I saw someone say Bama never gets holding penalties, and it made me curious. I can't find anywhere on Google, but is there a site that tracks the number of specific types of penalties?

When you consider the McDowell and Sapp injuries, we were down our top two, and 4 out of our top 5 LBs.

If we can get healthy enough to finish the season with a depth chart that looks like this, and roll into ATL with all of these guys healthy, I truly believe we could win the SEC Title:

QB: Dobbs, Dormady
RB: Hurd, Kamara, Kelly
WR: Malone, Jennings, Smith, Byrd
TE: Wolf, Croom
LT: Kendrick, Richmond
LG: Robertson, Boulware
C: Weisman, Thomas
RG: Jones, Weisman
RT: Hall, Thomas

DE: Vereen, Lewis, Phillips
DT: Vickers, Picou, Mixon
DT: Tuttle, Johnson, Kongbo, Phillips
DE: Barnett, Kongbo
ILB: Kirkland, Jumper
OLB: McDowell, Berry, Bates
CB: Sutton, Foreman, Buchanan, Martin
CB: Moseley, Foreman, Buchanan, Martin
NB: Gaulden, Foreman
S: Abernathy, Warrior
S: Kelly, Warrior

Good thing you're not on the committee...

Committees check list of most importance to least probably reads:

1. Conference Champion
2. SOS
3. W/L ratio
4. Strength of team at season's end

We aren't going to be amongst the 4 best when it comes to the third item, but we can do well in the other three.

2001 Nebraska played Miami and didn't even win their division of the Big 12 (Colorado beat the hell out of them like 65-30 in the last game).

Where do you see that list?

I am seeing head to head Listed as 3)

See bolded, it was an educated opinion.

But even with head to head being third, it is still less important that winning your conference. Winning the SEC trumps Alabama's beating us. An 11-2 SEC Champ UT goes to the playoffs over an 11-1 Bama even if we don't meet them in Atlanta.

So you are good with the play calling and WR development to this point? You think our O line coach is doing a superb job? WOW

I take the long view and also compare our record to my expectations. We are exactly where I thought we'd be. When healthy the OL plays well. And when the OL plays well and gives Dobbs time to throw, our receivers seem to be doing very well. Malone with a big game or two could push for 1,000 yards this year.

No. The only thing worrying me is injuries, which is the obvious explanation for our performance Saturday.

Sorry I missed that part. Head to head is listed 3 on the official website.

Again 49-10 is one hell of an argument for a 11-1 Bama team.

Enjoyed the talk guys. I have said my piece. Carry on.

If we had this lineup the entire game at A&M and Bama, we would have beaten A&M and it probably would have been more like a 10 point loss to Bama...
Just get these kids rested and healthy Coach!

In one of their title stretches, I believe they went approximately a year and a half without a holding call.

In Saturday's game, there were several that could have been called, especially on Jackson's punt return. It's so uncanny that it makes you wonder. I am not a conspiracy theorist, but I am starting to believe it with Alabama football.

I saw somewhere that we dressed only 70 scholarship players on Saturday. Does anyone have the latest list of scholarship only players? I'm assuming that a list of 15 missing from the game includes O'Brien and Williams. Not sure what others make up the list. The ones that are obvious are Reeves-Maybin, Sutton, Wiesman, Kirkland, Alexis Johnson, McDowell, and Sapp. Who am I missing?

I saw less than 70 somewhere.

I'm definitely a believer that each conference assist their best chance for winning a championship.
The last I saw, NC State had something like 14 penalties and Clemson 0.

Lol, not even a hold, substitution or miscommunication and lined up incorrectly.
I won't say impossible, but very dam* close to it.

I am going to issue a disclaimer on this. I found it posted on an Auburn site this past December. Most of us simply don't have the time to do this research. But here it is:

This was compiled by Stat on TOS. Very Interesting.....

From 2007-2015:

9 years
121 games
8114 offensive snaps

55 holding penalties
37 holding penalties against OL or 1 every 3.3 games.

OL is flagged for holding every 219 snaps.

Alabama had zero holding penalties during 65% of their games.

Only 2 times during 121 games was Alabama flagged for holding while trailing on the scoreboard.

During 78 conference games, their OL was flagged for holding 19 times (1 every 4.1 gms).
During their remaining 43 games, 18 times (1 every 2.4 gms).

Interesting Breakdown:

9 games vs. Auburn ................. 2 holding penalties against OL.
6 games vs. Florida .................. 1
4 games vs. Georgia ................ 0
10 games vs. LSU .................... 3
9 games vs. Tennessee ............ 1
9 games vs. Ole Miss ............... 2

9 games vs. Arkansas .............. 6

They are corrupt in every way possible. That's why Saban wanted total control and he has it...he controls his program, university, state, SEC, and NCAA. It's why he didn't leave a couple years ago for Texas. He couldn't get total control there...they wouldn't allow it. I hope the truth comes out soon after he retires, and they have to vacate all of these NCs. Would be hilarious!

Agreed. He seems to effect the game more than Berry, Al, or Henderson to me

He certainly affects it a lot. I think we should start putting him in at RB on goal line and get him a few TDs, then start promoting him for the Heisman. If Woodson can win, why not DB?

In all seriousness, if he can continue this pace and probably should be more dominant against lesser opposition, then it will be a sham if he doesn't win the Outland.

Lmao there were like 10 of you who legitimately thought Bama shanked one of our players during a game 😂

What the actual hell lol

It made for a good laugh to a Monday morning until I recalled what it felt like to watch that game.... Kinda felt like we got shanked
