Too bad he couldn't hold on just a little longer. I hate that his last few years of watching UT football were so bad : /

I was in his class at UT. He was a good tough runner who had the advantage of running behind Bob Johnson and a really good OL. The '68 team was extremely talented.

Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Man that is one bad thing to have. I don't think I would care to hang on with that. Lord take me quick if I were to ever get something like that.

RIP Mr Pickens. You were a great one.

On Saturdays, we would see Tenn. with a third and seven or eight,quaterback drops back, then hands off to number 34 on a draw with John Ward saying,"pickens comes roaring through the line for eleven yards for a ffffffffffffirst down".I knew him,rest in peace my good man.
