Quick note from #Vols practice: freshman defensive back Rashaan Gaulden missed today and had a cast on wrist/forearm.
Patrick Brown

The Vols did not appear to have either of their starting specialists out at practice --- redshirt-senior punter Matt Darr and true-freshman placekicker Aaron Medley as both players are nursing likely ankle injuries. Trevarris Saulsberry, Johnathon Johnson, Rashaan Gaulden all were on the practice field but not dressed. Gaulden had his right wrist bandaged while Saulsberry was in shorts and jersey but did not have a knee-brace on. Jason Croom was in a green, non-contact jersey and continued to have a protective wrap on his hand.

-Kendrick, Blair and Thomas worked at tackle and Weisman got increased work at center.

-Butch "wasn't bashful" in calling out the team's running game

Fast Five
1. No Darr. Punters were Troy Waites, Trevor Daniel and Ryan Ault.
2. Kendrick started in place of Gilliam
3. Gaulden out. Croom seemed fine but wore a green jersey.
4. Saulsberry and Derrell Scott out.
5. Jones exaggerated repeatedly that Lane and Hurd didn't have a single carry over five yards.

Possibly most interesting point from player availability. Defensive back Justin Coleman said he thought Chuckie Keeton was scared to run...

With all due respect to Butch, I'm pretty sure this statement isn't true. Just sayin.

Interesting take on Butch on the the running game today. Probably motivation for when it's OU week.

If we rush like against anyone else besides Chattanooga and Ark St we will be in for a dog fight or a loss IMO. Running game needs lots of work.

What is wrong with Derrell Scott? Looks more and more like a redshirt year for him.

Any news on Scott and possible redshirt year? What about Paulk?

Would love to see Scott play this year. Was highly rated coming out of HS.

Nothing seems to be good enough for CBJ and I'm alright with that. It's gonna push the players to wanna be close enough to perfect as possible.
