1. Butch is no where to be found, supposedly recruiting.

2. No tweet at all from Butch concerning the Gatlinburg fire.

3. Two flights from Knoxville to Purdue University in the past few days.

4. Butch "shortening" his press conference after Vandy (this has been explained, but still a sketch move)

5. Losing 3 recruits in 30 minutes.

6. One of the recruits retweeting a tweet telling Butch to just leave....

We may very well be looking for another coach at a terrible time to be doing so. Anyone else think this is all just coincidence?

Don't know, but I sure wouldn't blame him for pulling a Cuonzo.

There is no happy ending here.

Butch leaves and we have nobody to hire his replacement.
Butch stays and he's a lame duck coach at best.

It's a little fishy but as bad as I want Butch gone, I just don't see it happening. The 3 recruits who decommitted might not be related to Butch at all........or

The season just ended. The Coaching Carousel is just starting to turn and all coaches everywhere have 2 weeks to recruit...

Just like this time of year, every year.

Marquez Bembry(Tennessee commitment): says he's frustrated and confused about 10 minutes ago wanting to know what's going on.

Jeff George: says hmmm... With eye emojis after. Then a tweet with "idk" and a mouth sealed emoji.

3 decommitments in an hour

Something IS happening... Somebody is leaving

Guys, this is a stretch. It's clear from Cotman's other tweet from Scout that he was told to look around because Tennessee is going to be making offers to JUCO CB's. Does that sound like the actions of a head coach who has made up his mind to leave? No, it sounds like the actions of a head coach who knows he is in trouble and needs to turn it around on defense next year.

All he had to do was beat vandy

No, that's not all he had to do. No matter how much he does there are always the ones that are thumping their chests that he isn't doing enough. If they win a game then the opponent was garbage but if they lose then the opponent is even bigger garbage and we suck even worse.

Legions of the miserable.

You guys are FREAKING RIDICULOUS!!!!! Chill the h.ll OUT!!! Our coaches are recruiting their a$$e$ off. The Gaddy twins as stated multiple times have academic issues. You happen to think Butch and Co. may have "suggested" they look around? No..it's too easy to push the PANIC button! The Cotham was a soft commitment to begin with. You guys get on here and post such garbage about our program and our coaches...you have NO IDEA how much 17/18 year old kids read your garbage! What a great fan base!!! I'm sure rival schools love it and use it against us as well! Keep up the good work fans!!!

Get out of here with logic, can't you see it's mass hysteria time.

I wouldn't blame him either and those who would be happy if this is true will be happy until:

1. The next coach is named and it is not who they want. A coach that would be hired by the current AD or would have to wait until after a new AD is named which is going to be after the new chancellor arrives.

2. Recruits they really want bail because they have no clue who is going to be the coach.

3. Players on the current roster that they banked on being around for the next coach bail.

That was a good move. Cuonzo is living it up out here and so am I:hi:

If a coach works their butt off and the fans don't appreciate it, then the smart one's move on.
Martin's players never got in to trouble, He did coach horribly in some games. He did do well in the last tourney though.
If the fans and the administration were showing him signs that he wasn't going to be supported anymore, then why stay around?
He immediate replacement was definitely not better than Martin. Donnie T. was in trouble the day he stepped on campus.
Also Martin was our 10th choice to be our coach. Remember all of the coaches who turned us down? When they hired him, everyone said Cuonzo Who???

From the recruiting forum....

"Butch Jones was in the office all day but heads out tomorrow to see Trey Smith in what will be a pivotal visit. We still don't know where Smith is leaning at this point so that makes this weekend all the more important."
