No, this isn't a thread about coaching options for TENN. This is about 3 coaches who were top rated SEC assistants and how their careers have gone so far. Just something different to discuss.

Jimbo Fisher -- Assistant for Saban at LSU. OC at FSU
for Bowden. HC at FSU and has won a NC

Muschamp -- DC for Saban at LSU. Ass HC for Dolphins.
DC for Auburn. DC at Texas and HC in
waiting. UF HC and under
performed. HC at USCe and improving.

Bo Pelini -- Defensive coach in NFL. DC at Neb. DC for
Stoops at Ok. DC at LSU for Miles. HC @NEB

Again this is not a post for possible coaches. Just thinking of 3 highly regarded assistant coaches in the SEC who early on took similar paths. One is a NC coach, one is getting a 2nd chance in the SEC, and the 3rd is at an FCS school. All had Saban as a mentor. All had SEC experience. All seem to have volatile personalities. Do you think coaching ability is the reason they have taken different roads, or was it luck, or is the schools they went to the differences. Pelini has had success just as good as Muschamp. Why was he sent to FCS.

Why isn't anyone interested in Pelini? Rather have him than Schiano. Maybe he comfortable at home in Youngstown.

Well, the nut generally doesn't fall far from the tree.

All three were steeped in outstanding programs and good influences never leave you.
