Gary said Tennessee NEEDS to beat Florida and if UF beats us then they will have a good year, but Butch will have UT ready.

Is it possible to like your own post? Because either my sarcasm meter is completely off, or two people have watched this game and confidently think Florida will blow us out at home. I'm not saying it wont happen, but I'm not tucking my tail.

The fact that Bama is on it's way to putting up 700 yds and 50 pts vs Florida makes me think 2 things:

1. Bama's gonna absolutely boat race UT
2. Maybe we can make a game of it vs Florida.....maybe.

ESPN Radio is saying Butch will leave after this year to take the Michigan job next year. The powers at Tennessee better pay him his worth now with a raise and a couple of more years to his contract. I personally don't think he would leave with all the hard work he has put in to rebuild this team BRICK by BRICK.

I think if he left he would just give another coach a stable full of crazy talent to make the first year easier. I know Im biased but leaving to go to that hot mess in Ann Arbor would be a stupid decision IMO

Other than it is his home state (but not really his home team), I don't see this. It is a lateral move or slightly down (haven't kept up with their depth or lack thereof). Don't see him starting a new rebuilding project yet either and if he rebuilds here with success for a few years there are not many college programs that are an upward move. If he has success, as long as we pay him, I think he stays here. Unless he wants to have a go in the NFL.

Regardless, think he has to have a 6-6 or 7-5 season at least and show the progress we hope he will this year before any big money programs come calling.

It's really hard for me to believe Butch would leave UT for Michigan. I know he's from Michigan, but it's not like he graduated from UM or coached there (ala Kiffin).

I see UM going after a successful coach at the mid major level or someone with ties to the program.

As crazy as things have been at UT lately? I wouldn't be a bit surprised anymore. I would hope he wouldn't do that and talk about how Michigan is his dream job and blah blah blah. I don't trust what any football coach says anymore. They are ALL about the money.

They have the most wins in major college football.

Three options for bUTch: (1) remain at U.T. (2) Leave for Michigan (3) Leave for Florida

Football??? Hell, Counzo said he was to remain at U.T. but 48 hours later he was in Berkley.

Any fan who believes the current coach is 100% committed to their current progam is setting themselves up to be disappointed. Coaches are no different than any of us.

You may love your job, but if an opportunity came along that doubled or tripled your salary what would you do?

Oh and you heard it on ESPN radio? That is a completely reliable source, almost as reliable as the Gruden is headed to UT crowd imo. I have heard on ESPN radio that many coaches were coming or had expressed interest in UT, funny thing is none of them ever came.

Chance are that IF bUTch leaves, Hart will hire someone like Dooley, who has no idea what to do with so much talent. We end up losing to Tennessee Tech and the recruits will drop like flies.

Be careful! MOst of us never thought that Obama would get a 2nd term but he did.....

I really, really hope that bUTch stays but about 20% of me thinks that he will leave to go to Michigan or Florida.

Best way to stop this non-sense is for Michigan & Florida to both become bowl eligible and retain their coaches.

Granted that this is from a radio program that is known for gossip pandering I think we're selling Coach Jones a little short. The big 10 is not going to make your legacy. Coach Jones wants the athletes and the competition. I have faith in him until HE shows me a reason not to. Give him a little credit.

Nick Saban says hi. Texas was willing to give him over 100 million to coach yet he stayed at Bama. So no there are exceptions.
