Saturday's game in Athens represents the 44th all-time meeting between Tennessee and Georgia. The Vols own a 21-20-2 all-time edge in the series, which stands at 10-10-1 in games played in Athens.

Georgia has won four consecutive games in the series, including a 34-31 overtime win at Neyland Stadium in 2013. The Vols' last win in the series was a 45-19 win in Knoxville in 2009, UGA's largest defeat in the last six seasons.

Tennessee's last road win over a ranked opponent was a 51-33 win over Georgia in Athens in 2006.

The last three meetings between Georgia and Tennessee have been decided by eight points or fewer (8, UGA 20-12 in 2011; 7, UGA 51-44 in 2012; and 3, UGA 34-31 (OT) in 2013). However, six of the last nine meetings in the series have been decided by 12-plus points.

A week after playing at #4/3 Oklahoma, the Vols are playing consecutive road games vs. ranked teams for the third consecutive year. UT played at #1 Alabama (Oct. 26) and at #10 Missouri (Nov. 2) in consecutive games in 2013, and at #5 Georgia (Sept. 29) and at #19 Mississippi State (Oct. 13) in consecutive games in 2012.

The Vols lead the SEC and rank second in the nation by limiting opponents to a third down conversion rate of 23.3% (10 for 43). In the last game, UT limited #4/3 Oklahoma to 3-for-14 on third downs, OU's lowest third down conversion pct. at home since 2009.

Despite the abundance of youth both on the roster and in the starting lineup, Tennessee leads the nation in fewest penalty yards per game at 21.33 yards per game.

The Vols also lead the SEC in fewest penalties per game, averaging 3.0/game, a total that ranks tied for third nationally. UT has only been penalized nine times for 64 yards in three games this season.

At least we don't have to wait long for the game due to the noon kick off! Go Vols!

I will be heartbroken if UT does not win but understand the realistic expectations. As VN says, "Whip dey ass!"

I really hope the OL can provide some running lanes for our 2 RB's. The OL has to show improvement in this area and hopefully the OC has made some adjustments with adding personnel for additional blocking against the pass rush. This OL will need all the help it can get for this game. The VOLS are in a hostile environment (OU was mild compared to GA) and they will need to have a balanced offense to give this team an opportunity to win the game.

"IF" we are one dimensional again, its going to be a long day.

Really think we have a good chance to win this one.

Going to have to plan my breaks accordingly at work tomorrow so I can watch as much as possible.
