Look no further than the articles, tweets and tributes from not only the sports world but the world in general to see how truly special Pat Summitt was. She crossed lines of all kinds and touched the lives of not only her players and coaches but those on the opposing sidelines as well. Women, men, young and old hold her in such high regard and we were truly blessed to have witnessed just a bit of her greatness for those few hours at a time, a few times a year. Pat Summitt made me proud to be a Tennesseean and a Vol as she showed what it meant to be both on and off the court. Her legacy will live on and she was without a doubt a pioneer not only for women but for anyone who had ideas of succeeding and being the best you can be. I can see girls now who will want to come to UT and 'play for Pat' as her reach will still be felt. Rest in peace, Pat and thank you for everything.

Pat was truly a class lady. She was a competitor but also a kind loving human being. The state of Tennessee has truly lost a fine citizen, one who will not be replaced for many years
