Good get! Read an article on dawgnation and they were very high on him. Of course now they'll say he's a 3 star they didn't really want anyways. Welcome to Volnation, Mykelle!

How come he's only 1% sure he's a Vol. Oh, and you do know we have a recruiting forum on this board, right? :birgits_giggle:

The 6-foot-4, 240-pound McDaniel chose Tennessee near the end of his official visit with the Vols. Academic issues caused him to extend his recruitment beyond National Signing Day earlier this year, but he recently became academically eligible and now plans to arrive at Tennessee in time to participate in preseason practice.

McDaniel became the 23rd member of the Vols' 2016 class, although only 22 of those players are expected to be at Tennessee this year after three-star wide receiver Corey Henderson — who signed with the Vols in February — signed with Blinn College in Brenham, Texas, in late May because of academic issues.

McDaniel is ranked the nation's No. 504 overall prospect and No. 23 strongside defensive end in the 247Sports Composite for the 2017 class.

He also scored a 23 on his first rep with the ACT and aspires to become a doctor.

That green check mark is a nod to what those close to him term a “likely” clearance from the NCAA Clearinghouse. McDaniel was homeschooled up until his ninth grade year at Grayson High School. He took a few high-school level courses as an eighth-grader from an accredited association. He’s now playing the waiting game for those to be approved on his transcript.

Does this mean that Alexis Johnson won't be reinstated?

I have heard some who think he might be reinstated at beginning of fall camp, others who believe he will be dismissed, and now red shirt rumors. We are not going to really know until an announcement is made.

After this run of incidents that led to the title IX suit
(I still wonder what titles I through VIII were all about), however this ends, I have a feeling Butch is looking for a way to send a clear message in how he deals with Alexis Johnson. It will be his first post-settlement response, so I feel they want to decide this carefully. And this delay could be a part of it.

23 isn't very good at least for someone who aspires to be a doctor
