Now that gruden mania appears to be slowing down (maybe the coaster has just stopped for maintenance) this should be the thread we get a new coach.

I expect a solid hire of a well known name to happen a week from today.

This is it!

Do we hire a coach in this thread?

First page.

Safe to say from Atlanta Vol’s post that Gruden stuff is still alive, but sounds like it’s on life support.

He also said that the Plan B was an option that most (though not all... meaning people that are gruden or bust) people would be really excited about.

If this thread lasts until next Sunday evening, we get our new coach in it.

Currie needs to squash the Gruden crap and go all in on Patterson. Nobody else really matters.

That's the feeling I got from that post as well.

Either the mountaintop of excitement thread. Or the pit of misery thread. Dilly dilly!

Harbaugh is one of the only names that a Gruden smokescreen makes sense for.

Harbaugh's name popping up a month ago was so random and bizarre that I felt that there had to be something to it.

SIAP or discussed, from Bruce Feldman twitter:

After bottling up Khalil Tate & an explosive Arizona O, #Oregon's run D is No. 29 in the nation in run defense. They ranked No. 121 last season. Huge improvement under Taggart & Leavitt this year.

Kress is on the same level as Basillio, they report every rumor they hear, don't do much vetting, but can be entertaining to follow.

Take anything they put out there with a grain of salt...or mound of salt. They're wrong more often than not.

I’m jealous. We saw improvements off and on in different areas under Butch but run defense was never one of them. No surprise we didn’t win as much as we could have. We haven’t been able to stop the run in a long long time.

Report just came out Currie hired Leavitt at Kansas State as coach in waiting. He obviously likes him. Could see it being a big selling point in Taggart's favor if he wants the job.

Surprised there's not been more talk about it.
