Let's see it boys - I'm going with 20%

I was a believer until full staff rosters started floating around. Next thing we know, there's going to be a list of recruits who have silently committed to Gruden too...

I have my toes crossed but am a non-believer at this point. The highs and lows of rumorville or is it grudenville(?) have me worn out and a pile of work built up on my desk. 25%

25%.

My uneducated guess is we have 90% of the deal in place for Gruden (possible MOU, etc.), but he will bail if something better comes along. Because of potential openings in the NFL, his nice current gig, and his lack of significant college coaching experience, I'd put it as a pretty high-likelihood he bails last minute.

I said less than 10%.

People are setting themselves up for massive disappointment.

Pretty much. An MOU isn't legally binding, either. I don't even know how much I believe an MOU has been signed, but it really amounts to a gentlemen's agreement.

Very easy to back out for either party, though Hart would be crucified for backing out, regardless of the lunacy of JG's demands.

Not flaming anyone, though I'm hopeful but highly, highly skeptical of even an MOU. If I didn't have any emotional investment in Tennessee, I would say 0%.

I will not hide either . I have seen nothing but he said she said , plus a lot of bs like the picture at Tyson airport , being at TWS , or being at CAK . I think some people , a slight few may have some legitimate info , while others are just playing folks and trying to be what they aren't . I personally don't think it will happen and of course , I hope I am wrong

Well, we have 2 ESPN analyst's saying Gruden would likely land at UT.

Gruden's agent has been "rumored" to be in Knoxville. It has also been "rumored" that a well known and "well connected" owner of a real estate company in Knoxville has been working with the Gruden family for a housing location.

There have been other rumored sightings, etc...bottom line do I think this hire is a reach for TN? Yes......but I sure do enjoy hoping for the best.

Agree. After days of believing it could happen I think everything has cooled now. There is too much confusion on the UT side with infighting everywhere. Too many power struggles going on and there is NO credibility when people start posting all of these sightings which are totally false. I am not sure the infighting can be fixed in time to make a good hire. I am beginning to see a way for Dooley to survive or end up with a sub-par hire that will not excite the fan base. As a UT football fan I want a home run hire to make this program competitive again.

I disagree about a sub par hire contingent upon what your considering sub par. I can agree with you on the credibility and power struggle part, which is frustrating as a fan.

I dont see a sub par hire. I see either a solid hire or Dooley remaining for another year.
