Why is it that some in the media are trying to play down our win against Cal because our WRs are smart enough to figure out their secondary signals concerning safety help, yet, no one in the media was trying to down play Florida's win over UT last year when C.J. Leak, with his knowledge of our processes, baited our punter into the fake punt...

I also heard CAL was complaining that somehow UT watched some of their fall practices. Rumors? Anyone know?

Figuring out the signals is part of the game, that's why MOST teams have complicated methods to ensure that doesn't happen. It's just another indication that Cal wasn't that good of a team.

i like how the media is mking a big deal about this when MLB teams do it on a DAILY basis.

Sounds like The Tennessee "Hillbillys" were a little smarter than those Cal boys gave us credit for being!

These are the same "experts" who picked mighty CAL to beat Tennessee. When that didn't happen and even worse they were pistol whipped, these same "experts" have to save face. Thus write about anything and everything discrediting the Vols dominance. Weak reporting followed up by more weak reporting.

I also heard rumors that Tennessee looked at game tape from the 2005 season. Are we going on probation for that?

The only opinion that counts is Tedford. He took his loss like a man. He went to prepare for Minn. He knows he got outplayed anyway you cut it. as long as signals are deciphered ethically, i have no problem.

As a coach, when you get outcoached, its easy for everyone to play the blame game. I applauded the coaches for getting their signals and using it the way it is supposed to be used, make them pay for their mistakes. Way to go coaches and players---Good luck on Saturday.

Coach Trooper Taylor made a comment post game-Kal. The media grabbed it and ran.

Is the strategy of this game is to guess what the other team is going to do so you dont play to their advantage. If cal is tipping their plays then that is their problem. Sour grapes in my opinion.

It reminds of when Kelly Washington gave away the play (if it would be a pass of a run) by his stance prior to the snap.

I especially like Lee Corso saying that Cal could still play for the National Championship. What exactly does it take for him to admit that he was just plain wrong? Got to be the most idiotic I've ever heard him sound. And THAT'S saying a lot.

There was one linebacker in particular that said the Vols weren't that quick, etc.

Also Lynch felt that he played WELL. :wacko: I don't remember the rest of the quotes.

Lynch averaged 6 yards per carry. It's not his fault his teammates are WAC quality players.

He also got tackled from behind by our young linebackers. :p He had 2-3 decent runs, the rest of the day he got jack.

I think the big stat is that he only got 12 carries. I know the run got taken away in the 2nd half due to the score, but how the heck did Tedford let that happen?

Lynch should be getting at minimum 25 touches per game.
