Fulmer was caught off guard by Hamilton ineptness.

Last time I checked, Hamilton is TCHFCATUTK's boss. Haystacks needs to remember that. I have no problem with how our fine AD handled this. I hope he does it the same way when he dismisses Haystacks after we lose 4 games again this season.

When the time comes at the end of the upcoming season, I hope Hamilton goes Vince McMahon on Haystacks.

Last week I was at the big annual event here in Flagstaff, the who's who kind of dinner/auction. It has a western cowboy theme, and what table was I seated?

Haystacks

Freaking hatvol and VN won't leave me alone!

Surely not. If so, it was highly unprofessional.
Hamilton thinks outside the box. Pearl was a maverick hire that's rapidly paying dividends.

Who knows, maybe Fulmer and his agent were pulling some BS behind the scenes, and Hamilton decided to curtail it in a hurry.

So far, I prefer Hamilton greatly when compared to Dickey. That opinion may change, but for now, that's how I feel.

I think Hamilton did what he did on purpose.

I agree hotlanta, it was on purpose you can book it.
Hamilton is an AD, and his primary responsibility is to make money just like any CEO of a big company. There is NO knowledge how to coach or hire one. Thus why they all hire Firms to search for a coach. All Hamilton has done that was a good decision was Hire CPB and Grunfield had more to do with finding him than Hamilton.

Hamilton has sold out to the almighty $ with the sky box additions, to roll in the money. He is even doing it with TB Arena. Good thing my seats are on row 15 or he would take them. I can see it now if he is still around when my grandkids try to go to a Vols game they will have to own the condo on the 35 yard line.

As everyone here knows, Fulmer was in Hamilton's corner when he get hired. Hamilton had Fulmer's full support for the AD job and Hamilton knows Fulmer was instrumental in getting him hired.

IMO it will take a lot to get Hamilton to terminate Fulmer. IMO the only plausible scenario is Fulmer being forced to retire earlier then planned. IMO Fulmer will never be fired. He's been at UT too long and his too well connected to the AD.

I was glad to read in the article that Coach F has slimmed down considerably... :whistling:

What would you have him do? Would you prefer Neyland and TBA fall behind other SEC and National stadiums and arenas? Would you prefer to "keep your seat" while high profiled recruits snicker at our facilities and go elsewhere? Would it be ok with you if Tennessee stopped filling up Neyland Stadium because people couldn't stand sitting in a broken down facility that was unsafe and didn't meet ADA standards?

I'm glad you're a Vol fan, but don't be so selfish. You're arguement kind of reminds me of the "grandfathered" season ticket holders that are mad that they are going to have to start paying the same price as everyone else.

Neyland Stadium isn't unsafe. Personally, I wouldn't care if they didn't change a thing. I haven't noticed any glaring problems. As for it not getting filled up, I'm pretty sure we would have no problem selling out games if there was an alligator filled moat surrounding Neyland. No one is going to stop coming to games because Neyland isn't perceived as being on par with other SEC venues.

It's a good thing that Hamilton is sending a message. Do you guys want an AD who doesn't hold head coaches accountable? Fulmer is a big boy, makes $2 million a year...he should be able to take a little heat.

I wasn't happy with the Hamilton hire initially. I thought he was just going to be Fulmer's lapdog, but he has impressed me more and more as time goes by.

Maybe it was a slip of the tongue but I have a hard time believing that scenario. MH and CPF are both smart calculating men who think before they talk. MH aired his comments on the radio knowing it would send a message to CPF. My take on it, message received.

Did CPF like it? - No
Does he need to like it? - No.
Did he hear the message? - Yes

Think you'll see a movitivated CPF this season. Will it help. TBD.

Here's an idea.......why don't you see how the coming season plays out before you put us in the 4 loss column.

First I assure you I am in no way grandfathered in. I pay a donation every year plus the cost of the tickets. Thinking of me being selfish is a very wrong thought you are having. I even have two additional seats (which yes I have to pay a donation) and those two seats are given away each and every game to an organization here in Chattanooga for a parent and child to have the thrill of a Vols game. Selfish? You may want to rethink that one.

Second, I was not saying we didn't need to have some structural and cosmetic upgrades, because we do and I will be very proud when we have them. If you will go back and read what I was saying, you will see my point was, Hamilton is making room for the " Mega" donors to have suites at the expense of the average Vols fan. I had the opportunity to watch the Florida game from one of the suites and I have never seen so many "fans" more interested in the food and socializing, I actually felt out of place when I jumped to my feet to cheer about a play. So my point is how long will it be till Hamilton's "mega" boosters just have a big ol party place to entertain and the game will be just an extra benefit.
