Anybody else worried about Mississippi State?

We're coming off a huge win against GA, it's in Starkville, and we have to play Bama the next week in Tuscaloosa.

I could see us looking ahead to Bama.

nope.....arent they down to their 3rd qb?

If we lose that game, fulmer might as well stay in mississippi and take over for Coach O.

there's no reason anyone should look ahead of being "croomed". This is the only thing that keeps Sly his job. Fulmer knows that Croom loves to knock off the big dog. I can't even begin to imagine with how things have gone so far that anyone on UT would be overlooking anybody right now. We wouldn't even overlook Stanford right now. I think a loss to MSU would be worse than losing to UGA, Bama, or USC for Fulmer

hell's bells i worry about everyone. croon is really up against the wall and a win over the Vols would help him immensely. if we are the team that played sat against georgia, then we have nothing to worry about. that is the first time in a year we have put the wood to a decent ball club, i would go back to cal. it was an a-- whuppin, and i actually thought i saw glimpes (through the tears of joy) of a tenn defense we can be proud of.
GO VOLS no let up!!!:dance2:

Miss State's terrible---Sly Croom can't coach at this level. UT wins this game by 3 TDs, without breaking a sweat.

It would definetly be worse than losing to GA, Bama, or S. Carolina.

I also don't think were a team that should look past anyone, but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen, and Croom's team was able to beat Auburn this year.

I watched that game, and his defense looked good.

I'm not saying it'll be a cakewalk...but fulmer knows his butt is firmly in the fire and for him to come up short in starkville would be equal to doing a cannonball into a pit of broken bottles.

Word. MSU struggled most of their game with a bad UAB squad.

this game is actually just as much a statement game to me as UGA or Bama. I want Fulmer to show that he can bring a team out against an inferior opponent and just dominate them into submission and look like worldbeaters. Really make a statement and be able to let the 2nd stringers really play for something in the second half.

MSU beat Auburn. Not saying that means much, but in college football (especially this year) if a team overlooks anyone, they are ignorant.

Ask Michigan, Ask USC, Ask Florida. You gotta love it. It's all about heart and a desire to win!

i agree. we need one of those oklahoma victories a couple of years ago that was 70-0(although i'm not sure if that possible in the sec). i really enjoyed the game yesterday, and i will enjoy it again tonight at 11 when it comes on sportsouth. it's just that no matter how far we are ahead there's always going to be that feeling in my stomach praying that the team doesnt come back on us. i just want ONE victory where i can sit back and relax.

At least they had their starting qb then. But I agree that we're not in a position to overlook anybody. We need to bring the A game(like showed up yesterday) every time we take the field.

they are much improved from last year. down to their 3rd qb or not, ut can't take them lightly.

Hold on now! Miss State has a very good running back (Dixon, I think is his name) plus their defense is respectable. This game will not be a gimme as we will probably be a little down after beating UGA. I would settle for a three point win.

Not taking them lighty....I think that fulmer knows that he's coaching for his job whether he recognizes it publicly or not and all of the emotion the team let out on georgia validates that there is an extraordinary amount of pressure on fulmer and the team to play well. If fulmer wants to keep his job he will have that team ready to play Miss. State.

And they are down to their 3rd string qb... We'd better F'n win..:)

Whenever I see Croom's name, I always think back to that picture I saw of him dressed in pads and a uniform at that one practice. Remember? He had that red cross on his jersey? He looked a drop point target for humanitarian needs.

Their two QBs are at high-school level. Basically they can't throw the ball AT ALL. They have a decent RB, but aren't we determined to beat Ark? I think we can beat Ark easily, so Miss St should never be a problem. And their coaching is pathetic in both O and D......
