Excellent article & interview. KJH would be a terrific choice for HC of the Lady Vols

Just as Wes Moore has had to deal with injuries this year, Kellie has had some adversity affect the Lady Bears.

Early in the season, she lost one of her two juniors to a season-ending injury. Late in the year, an important underclassman left the team (indefinitely, could still come back) for "personal reasons" before the second and third Drake games. Kellue assured fans that it was not for disciplinary reasons (fan speculation centered around academics). At any rate, she was a big factor in the first win over Drake, and the team found a way to close ranks and overcome her lost production inside, especially as a defender/rebounder.

The Lady Bears also showed great poise in Ames. iowa State had the second-highest average attendance this year after South Carolina. The radio announcers last night said the crowd noise was really big, but Kellie's team was fearless and prepared.

She will be a fool to leave for this job

Really, for a higher salary and to coach at the D 1 level again, at The historic Mecca of women’s basketball, I think she would be a fool not to take the chance. Most coaches’ dream is to coach successfully at the highest level, a dream that seldom come to many coaches. Jolly-Harper has rebuilt a program which was in the middle of the pack in the Missouri Valley Conference. At her present rate of success, Missouri State is only an avenue to a higher road.

Kellie is from my hometown, Sparta. The Jolly family is well-known, respected, and loved. Her father, the late Ken Jolly, was a well known White County High School basketball coach several years ago. Let's hope she gets a shot at coaching the Lady Vols!
