Well Ky did their job last night. They took out Franks and a starting DB for the first half of our game with the Gators. Now we need to take advantage of that.

On D- D. Taylor just became a totally dedicated QB assassin. Every play he needs to be in Trask's face, all night long. We are going to see a ton fo that lttle swing pass/dump off pass to Perine, just like BYU did and GS. This is were Banks or To'o too. can become legend. they should be assigned to shadow him on every play. They should be wearing he same pants cause that is where the ball is going. and Bitulli can cover the inside position. Corners need to keep inside leverage cause Gators will want to throw the inside slant to the wide outs. Safe, quick passes for Trask. Let Warrior Play zone over the top for when Trask panics like he did a couple of times last night. Gators did not look like world beaters last night or against Miami. They just made fewer mistakes, and there were plenty to go around. Their o Line looked beatable and a little soft. Against their Dbacks, Jennings could have a big game but JG can't throw jump balls all night long but he needs to get the ball out fast, just as soon as the receivers break open and not think about and pump 2-3 times.

We still need to improve on the o-line in run blocking, especially on short yardage. A little misdirection in the backfield wouldn't hurt either.

UT had better clean up the tackling. As for the inside leverage, someone needs to spend some serious time going over that with Burrell. The way he played yesterday will be disastrous vs UF.

We need some breaks to go our way. Make a few special teams plays and don't ask JG to try and win this game. Stay with the 12 grouping the entire game and hope the OL shows up and can give us some semblance of a running game. If we can shorten the game and give ourselves a chance in the 4th, maybe....maybe...the football gods will throw us a bone. I'm not expecting it, but it would be nice to see this team compete for 4 quarters against an SEC opponent in a really tough place to play.

Not classy to be subtly congratulatory that UK took out a hated foe’s QB.

I hate FL as much as anyone, but history says we wanted Franks playing next Saturday. Also, hate to see a kid go down like that. Prayers to him for a speedy recovery.

Not congratulatory at all. I hate seeing any player get a major injury but facts are we do dot have to deal with him know. He has the experience at QB and is very capable but does get brainfarts on occasion. His injury should help us. Hope he is back in 2 weeks, I know that won't happen.

Trask looked like a better QB than Franks, UF is much stronger at the LOS on both sides of the ball and they have much more speed all over the field. Vols will need to force more than a couple of turnovers and try to win a low scoring game.

D Taylor hardly even shows up...look who we have played so far....how many sacks he got...
Some of these kids haven't even woke up from what transpired this spring, summer and fall camp...who knows, maybe they think they are actually playing football

When you are not pushing expectations constantly and pushing these kids, spring, summer and fall camp then don't expect them to be able to turn it on anytime soon when the season arrives...some of them still look like they are sleep walking during the games . Kids have to have it in them to push themselves to the edges of the their abilities in order to develop......
Its up to the coaches to weed them out

There “job” wasn’t to take out the QB.

Is that like how everyone wants JG playing for us when we play them?

I swear, some of our superstitions/curses etc are simply the result of us not knowing how to win football games. I can’t stand Wes Rucker most of the time, but he hit the nail on the head with his article about the losing mentality and culture of Tennessee football. Who cares who the other team’s QB is, just line up and whip the man in front of you, every single snap.

Sort of. Franks playing gives us a better chance to win (re: backups in the past and his propensity to wet the bed), but JG gives us a better chance to lose. Quite the conundrum.......
