Player of the Week: Rennia Davis led unranked Tennessee to a 3-0 start to the Kellie Harper era, averaging 16.7 ppg., 8.3 rpg. and 1.7 apg. while shooting 44 percent from the field and 43 percent from the three-point arc for the week. Davis had double-doubles in two of her three contests, upping her career total to 20. She capped her week on national television, tying her career high in points with 33 on the road against No. 16/14 Notre Dame, as the Lady Vols won in Purcell Pavilion for the first time since 2008. The UT triumph, which came after UT lost leading scorer Zaay Green to an ACL tear two days earlier in practice, also marked the first loss at home by the Irish outside of UConn over the last 114 contests. The Irish were 110-3 during that span heading into the game. Against the Fighting Irish, Davis hit 12 of 20 shots, including 5-of-9 marksmanship from long range to tie her career best for three pointers made in a game. She also added 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season, plus an assist and a blocked shot. Davis also had a double-double in the season opener vs. ETSU, firing in 13 points and pulling down 10 caroms. She also added a pair of assists.

Rennia Davis looked like a player who had "it" in her freshman year, but it felt as if there was some struggles -- for whatever reason -- in year two. She's shown the athletic ability and skill to play that well many times before. I would not be surprised if she puts up similar numbers again this year.

Kellie has to figure out a way to keep Rennia from going into her shell which she has had a tendency to do. She has the talent. That isn't the issue. She will just disappear at times and not be aggressive. If Kellie can keep Rennia's motor revving, we will be a hard team to beat because when she gets after it, she is most likely the best player on the floor that night.
