1). Have you seen what “being Tennessee” has been like the last 15 years?
2) Why in the world would you not aspire to emulate the best there is?

Eh, the people who say "Tennessee should quit trying to be Alabama" are either journos or people quoting talking heads. Tennessee isn't trying to "be Alabama," they're just trying to be good. Alabama happens to already be good, and Pruitt was from the Alabama tree, so some media types started spouting the "being like Alabama" schtick back when he was hired. I recall reading a lot of that when journalists wrote explanations of why Fulmer opted for Pruitt. That's it. No one's running around the UTAD with a burning desire to "be Alabama," just a burning desire to be as good as Alabama -- so we can whip the crap out of them.

Now, some of those same media types, when they say "quit trying to be Alabama," what they really mean is Tennessee should know and accept its place as an also-ran. Screw that. Those dudes can go straight to hell. This train only stops at the top!

I think what they really should say is, stop trying to out pro-style the big 3 without having NFL caliber players in every position

We should use a creative scheme to get the best of our opponents

"What the UCFK, Danny. These people have been through way too much bad football, and spent way too much money on it, to expect them to stand and applaud the hire of Josh Heupel. Besides, the customer’s always right is first-day stuff." Rexrode

Tennessee needs to clean house , all the way into the Administration. Who ever allowed Fulmer as AD and sent previous AD packing. Not allowing people to do their job which is what they are paid to do.
This place needs a thorough cleansing. Couping your way to become AD, that's just very bad management. No wonder they were so disfunctional last 15 yrs.
The time to change is NOW..
Change in Administation is what's needed. To many chefs in the Kitchen.

That's pretty much what has happened. The President, Chancellor, AD, and head coach are all new since the Fulmer/Pruitt hire.
