5-7 is average
6-6 is doing a decent coaching job with what CJH has.
7-5 or 8-4 is above expectations
9-3 or better is coach of the year performance

I agree. I think will be a lot of enthusiasm due to the offense. Pitt and Florida will be pivotal games. You face Pitt with probably a simplified offense due to newness. By Florida you should see how well players are getting it. Win both and season's looking good, more like 9-3 and COY.

I think most people see 6-6. My question to you is will Georgia beat Clemson?

"Pre-season rankings ... how accurate will they be?"

Well, they don't know who our QB will be. They don't know our starting RB. They have never seen our ILBs on field together. They have never seen Young on field for us or Hadden or our kicker. They don't which of our players have added muscle or lost bodyfat. They only know we lost players, but not that we added any. But, if they want to make up some numbers, sure, be creative.

They don't say 5-7 though.

Imagine if a team was ranked 52nd and their schedule consisted of the #40-#51 teams. Does that mean 0-12? Of course not, those would all be nearly coinflips. Closer to 6-6/5-7 it woupd be.

Most have us at 6+ wins. FPI has us at 6.6 wins.

I think anywhere between 8-4 and 5-7 is reasonable. Think we will be competitive with everyone but Bama, Florida and Georgia. Wouldn’t be shocked if our offense ends up being very, very good. Our offensive line will be good to great as will our receivers, running back should be good enough and is generally a product of blocking more than anything. Surely we have can get good QB play out someone considering the upside that some of these guys appear to have

I think we can do better than 5-7 but nothing shocks me anymore. I see 5 probable wins where we should be able to secure the W with better overall talent. The predicted losses shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. The Pitt game IMO will prove to be a good indicator of how UT will compete throughout the season. Win that game and 7-5 should be attainable. Lose against PITT then we likely finish 6-6. It pains me to put UK as toss up game. GBO!!!

vs Bowling Green (128) Win
vs Pitt (41) toss up

I think the game's a toss up. It's so early in the season it wouldn't surprise me with either team winning. We're going to have to contain Uiagalele and try and make them run between the tackles. I think both teams will score in the 30s. But this thread is about Tennessee and your thoughts on Heupel and his system.

I'll let you know at the end of the season. One of my gifts is I can always predict the winning lottery numbers 24 hours after they are picked. That's my superpower.

Home field will carry the Pitt game but I do not see us getting three SEC wins this year.
