I would have loved to play for a coach like him. All the coaches in the 70s were mean SOB s . No shouting no grabbing face masks. Teaching them as opposed to fear tactics . He’s a modern style coach and a good one.

I liked everything Coach Heupel said in the video. It is so much easier to motivate and teach by being positive and personable. I said I was not going to immediately jump on the Heupel train but dammit I am 100% on board!!

Thank you for posting that video. I enjoyed watching our Coach work. At this point it’s hard to say how the team he inherited will take to all those teaching points about the “ little things”. I agree with Coach Heupel btw, and I’m sure that a team made up of HIS recruits will be on board with him. I’m not at all sure I can say the same about this group. Some of those faces I saw in the video looked like young men who didn’t think they needed anyone getting on them over “ little stuff”. Like “ hey.. I’m SEC ... I know what I’m doing “. For his coaching style and philosophy, Coach has the wrong group today. It remains to be seen how many can be retrained before the Fall season starts. I have to be honest... after all the time already spent I’m disappointed that the team has yet to adopt Coach Heupul’s most simple point, “ WE DON’T WALK ON THE FIELD “ without having to be reminded.
