I was just standing in line at Starbucks in the Murphy NC Casino and Fulmer walked up right behind me. I shook his hand and got his autograph. Super nice dude. Anyways, back to the tables, have a great day everyone.image.jpg

I like Fulmer, I really do. The man brought me memories that I will never forget, but...
I guess the $30k monthly check cleared for January, and he’s doing a little gambling.
GBO!!

Cool Story Bro.

I saw Fulmer step up to a urinal at a bathroom at McGee Tyson a long time ago when I was finishing up. I figured it probably wasn't the appropriate place to ask him for an autograph.
I have known Philip since he first came to Tennessee as an Oline coach from Vanderbilt. He has always been pleasant to talk with and he never forgets a name and can always puts it with the correct face. That is a skill which I have never mastered.

Like him or not he was the coach when he won a NC, and for that he deserves our respect. I believe he had good intentions when he took over as AD, it just didn't work out for him. In hindsight, it was an even more terrible idea by the UT Administration.

He had the best of intentions in the beginning.

The incompetent administration that led to his hire was more the problem. The power structure still is the problem. I do think white is the first real ad in the last couple of decades that isn’t beholden to any particular booster or power faction and perhaps can unite everyone behind the program.

I do think Fulmer made decisions once in the AD that were more about keeping him in power and less about the best thing for the program. The extension of Pruitt was purely political imho and had nothing to do with merit.

You could've held"it" for him while he was signing your cap. LOL.

I’m 100% sure Phil had great intentions when he took the AD job but just like his time as HC he was a terrible at hiring and too damn proud to admit his mistakes.

Fulmer's turn as AD left a sour taste in my mouth. I supported him as coach until the bitter end but he was in over his head as AD and should have known better.

It's the universities fault. Not his. People who have achieved what he has think they can do anything.

Fulmer made many bad decisions prior to and after becoming AD to hat have led to a he demise of the program. He won a NC, so props for that but he also gets his share of the credit for the downfall of the program

Watched the man play HS ball as a kid, then college as well as loved him as a coach and ambassador for the University.
All that being said, I wish you would have nut-slapped him.
Yup. Like you I watched him play then coach then assist in tearing the program to the ground. No longer see him the same way. The only thing I'd want to see him sign is a refund check(s) to this university then he should just hit the golf courses and stay the hell away from UT. A lifetime is enough.
