The committee is so biased toward Alabama it’s not even funny. One minute they’re saying margin of victory doesn’t matter then the next they’re saying that Bama is ranked ahead of us because they lost by less points in their two losses than we did. And now because Ohio State wants to be petty we’re stuck playing in a sorry excuse for a NY6 bowl (cotton).

Not being a smart a$$ but there are hundreds of posts about this. You are correct. We received and are continuing to see ncaa politics in action. Remember this when USC and tcu lose this weekend and the CFP looks really suspect.

I see you are pretty new...so welcome.

The Alabama situation look I get it, we check all the boxes that should put us ahead of them. But our two losses look really bad, and our starting qb went down for the rest of the season. If we played Alabama tomorrow would you feel good about it? At the end of the day 10-2 is an awesome season especially giving the circumstances for Tennessee, but we did this to ourselves with that usc loss. If we win that game, then we have a legitimate argument for the playoffs and picking our NY6 bowl. Nothing we can do now tho but move on and see how this plays out.

10-2 vs 10-2.....

Head to head / Tenn
Common opponent/ LSU UT won by 27 Bama in OT
Strenth of Schedule/ Tennessee by a wide margin
QUALITY WINS / Tennessee by a mile
Losses sure UT lost to UGA and bast beaten soundly by SC. 4 component's still out weigh 1 in any setting. Yes we lost OUR QB.... It is still a team game and the committee is a damn joke if I am being honest.
The human element of all these factors is flawed. The season is what matters in the grand scheme and IF you have two teams with identical records that have played you go with the winner. Not to mention UT would be the 2nd best team in this conference this year by record.

We got our a$$es kicked by SOUTH CAROLINA. Accept it and move on

you and several others on this board keep saying this over & over & over & over & over & over &over & over. That is NOT the main reason why they ranked bama ahead of us. If your eyes are soo full of tears over that loss that you can’t see the favoritism, then there’s no hope for you all.

Again, using their own criteria, Tenn should be ahead of bama.

Refraining from the topic...we were seriously bent over. Turns out you can beat Bama and they still win.

The committee’s criteria is like a college looking at 2 kids in high school, Josh and Nicky, to decide who gets in. Their criteria is:

GPA
ACT score
Student council involvement
Community service hours

This is the top criteria that they claim to judge all students as basis for admission. Josh beats out Nicky in all of these categories. But on the day the college is set to make their decision, they decide that they’re going to factor in that Josh got dumped at lunch in front of the rest of the senior class, which was pretty embarrassing for him. Because of this, they choose Nicky.

Who hasn't accepted it and moved on?

It has been accepted and all have moved on to debating where we should be ranked in relation to Bama given the fact that we lost to SC and Bama lost to us, we kicked LSU's a$$ and Bama lost to them, we have more quality wins, etc..........

Your statement/accusation is just simpleminded.

As unfair as it is, we put ourselves in this position by letting South Carolina have their way with us.
Every team did multiple things to put themselves in their current positions. We are debating the rationale of the current rankings given what each and every team has done - both good and bad.

Best UT game I ever attended was UT vs Texas AM Cotton Bowl. 2005. I had a blast. How the heck is that a bad bowl?? Would you prefer the Music City?
