With transfer portal robbing depth at QB position for most programs, will we soon see schools use NIL money to invest in backup QBs ? Decent QBs with 1-2 years of college experience who can use some NIL money before they graduate and move on. For example, look at TN: We have a 5th year senior and a 5* freshman. Tennessee desperately needs a decent and experienced QB as depth this year. Further next year we will be again with Sophomore Nico and a freshman guy.
Could a QB from mid-tier school with starting experience, who could use some NIL money, decide to be back up from 2 years ? Will colleges start looking into this ?
( I realize many good QBs will enter portal post spring but those will end of transferring anyways if they don't get the starting nod. Teams need legit designated back ups).
Thoughts ??
