More Depth

We have got to get deeper on the offensive line. There is still a significant drop off from our 1s to our 2s. If we are really going to be successful we have to have more depth
Welcome to the new normal. No one has depth at most positions. OL takes the longest time to develop, and our developmental players haven’t. We were without a starter and a key backup going it to yesterday’s game. Then lose another during the game.

But backups aren’t going to stick around 3 years to play 2.

It appears side of ball is not easily interchangeable. Have to admit I don’t understand other than at any elite level, all details are critical.

I wish that during the off week that we could turn one of our many quality dlinemen into an olinemen.
I know it doesn’t work that way. But I wish that it did.

A lot of those are what they refer to in the football business as MISSES. unfortunately.

OL depth was my #1 concern coming into the season. It reared it's head last night. The backend of the D was second. But, they've answered the bell for sure, although we havent been tested over the top yet.

A lot of them are what you refer to as freshmen. In a couple years, Warren, Perry and co will be juniors while Sanders and Utu will be sophomores. If anybody in the 23 class also steps up (read: Sham) our depth will look pretty good. Until then, we’ll have to hope for some luck with injuries.

I knew Oklahoma had a good DL, but I did not see them being as effective as they were. A lot of that has to do with heard being out, but I’m hoping that will be the best DL we face all season.
