I remember one year it seemed like every team we played was off the week before. Looks like we get a break this year:

Arky-plays A&M this week while we are off

Florida- off this week like us but gets UCF the week before us. If they lose that one we might be playing an Interim coach

Alabama- gets USC the week before us, at least that would appear to be a tougher game than originally thought

Kentucky- gets Auburn while we are off the week before

MSU- gets UMass before us but they are absolutely horrible and now lost their QB

UGA- get Ole Miss while we are playing MSU

UTEP- doesnt matter

Vandy- gets LSU before us

Schedule shapes us about as good for us as we could possible hope for in the SEC. I predicted 10-2, losing to Oklahoma and UGA. Will now change to 10.5-1.5!:)

If we lose to Bama and Georgia, we could/ likely end the season with no wins over teams ranked at the end of the season. How does that impact our playoff scenario?

Coaches are rarely fired in early October. But certainly if they lose UCF and us in back to back weeks, I could see it happening.

As long as we look competitive in each of those games I would think we’d still be in the playoffs.

Will be moot ..... We are going to have the passing game ready to go by then, and stomp mudholes in both of them.

Arkansas worries me the most outside of Bama/GA. Glad we get a bye before them. Don't like the idea of possibly playing an interim coach in the Florida game. Something is bad wrong in Florida and I want it to stay that way until the game is over. I also know Napier is going to trot Mertz out every week over Lagway. Let us get a few scores in until he comes in.

Impacts it in a couple of ways.
Obviously we wouldn't be playing for the SEC Crown, so a first round bye would be out of the window.
The assumption I'm going with is UGA and TX play for the SEC Title, both being undefeated.
That would mean Bama would be ranked ahead of us and have one loss.
Ole Miss would be ranked close to us and have two losses as well.
Assuming tOSU and Miami take care of business and win their conferences along with the Big 12 winner (Ok St?)...

Top 4 with the byes would be SEC winner, tOSU, Miami, Big 12
Next in line would be SEC loser, Bama, UT, Ole Miss, then likely Penn St, Oregon, and a couple others.
So, back to the quetion at hand - we go 10-2 we are likely looking at making the playoff, but also likely traveling in that first round...the filed would just be too crowded.
