"If the Volunteers don’t get their act back together, if they don’t figure out how to block a three-man front, if they don’t knock off the Gators, they are out of national playoff conversation. Unfair pressure? Were they ever a playoff team? Let us hope they prove they are". westwords Marvin West does a synopsis of the UT-Uf Game . Read it.

We are used to Marvin telling us heartwarming stories about Vol greats and glory days.

Here, he delivers a sermon and a warning about not taking the diminished Gators lightly. He knows the
history better than most, and his words should be heeded.

"No matter what the betting line says, this is no easy match. Tennessee fans know the Florida facts by heart. Scaredy-cats are in hiding, pretending to forget.

Newcomers won’t believe the numbers – 26 Florida victories, seven for Tennessee since 1990. Florida fans smile and say what was once a rivalry turned into a stampede. The Gators won 17 of the last 19 games."

This will be an easy match. I have yet to see a vastly superior Tennessee team lose at home to an inferior Florida team. The only reason the series has been so lopsided is because Florida has usually been the vastly superior team. And in the years both teams suck they've somehow managed to win all the close games.

However, in the rare occurrences where we've been way better (2022) we've beaten them at home.

Winning this game has nothing to do with the playoffs for me. Nothing.

Hmmm, ok, to be fair, you did specify by saying that another UT loss won't bother/effect you.

It will though, IMO, affect many of us and our chances of a playoff.

"The best strategy is always to be very strong; first in general, and then at the decisive point. .

Who’s to say this is a superior TN team? The jury is still out and if you recall, we almost gave them the game away @ Neyland in 2022.

I guess if things don't go our way on Saturday night changes are coming! (not coaching) I mean the verdict has been delivered! NO more Orange helmets, No more Orange knickers so now it's got to be the "Mountain Strong" stickers....Hmmm who/what we gonna blame? Couldn't be motivation or coaching, executing or preparation, NIL or discipline !??!..The new Smokey? No way...got to be those pesky uniforms combo's..

All in fun VFL's

I do. Cause I got eyes and can see how much talent we have. We're the best team in the country and by the end of the season everyone will be agreeing with me.

Yall are just blinded by last week. Typical of mindless fans. It's how Vegas makes so much money every week. They rely on the average person's recency bias.

True. Because I'm looking at the big picture. Which is the fact that we're a championship caliber team. Championship teams usually have a small stumble in a long season. It's difficult to predict when that stumble happens. However, what usually follows that stumble is a huge rebound and a team that plays its best after that.

Arkansas was that stumble. And as a championship team we will respond to that stumble by winning the following game in decisive fashion.

Are we a championship caliber team like Dobbs is a HOF QB?

The fact is if we can't block up front we are a 3-4 loss team.
