Dylan Sampson left off ESPN's midseason Heisman Watch

12 players on the list including TWO from Bama. Sampson's 15 TD's have him in rare territory right now. Pitt's RB Desmond Reid made the list and he has 3 TD's and 200+ less yards than Sampson. Typical ESPN bias..
Sampson is frequently making something out of nothing in SEC play.

Warrior. Leader. And should be Heisman candidate.

It takes a LOT to get a RB seriously in contention these days. There's a reason the only RB* on that list is Jeanty and he's averaging over 200ypg.

Make no mistake Sampson's 15td's (2pg ave vs SEC) is pretty gaudy but when your best yardage game is 138y you just aren't ringing the bell nationally. A big game against Bama would likely help.

*Technically Pitt's Desmond Reid got "a" vote but that has to be some epic homer pick since he's not even averaging 100ypg and has 3 rushing tds. Yes he is a legit receiving threat (341y) but, c'mon.

I think if a RB is gonna win it, Jeanty will be the guy.
No way a guy from Boise St is going to win the Heisman. Nobody east of the Rockies has seen him play. ESPN will have to put on a huge push for that to happen. Ward and Hunter are probably the true frontrunners followed by Milroe and Dillon. If Tex keeps it up look for Ewers to enter the picture. UT can put an end to Milroe's chances on Saturday.

If he scores another 15 cheggerboards in the last half he’ll be in the discussion guaranteed

Good. I hate the Heisman. Never have watched the presentation or fell prey to all the BS and hype.

Give me a group of players where they work together and don't have a superstar (hmmm, '98 team sound familiar????)

Maybe? Right now Jeanty is pushing Barry Sanders '88 pace. We'll see if that's sustainable but if he's still hanging in there towards season's end it'll be a front page story line.

It should be Ashton Jeanty's to lose but he doesn't play for Oklahoma or Alabama. It seems like they have already chosen Travis Hunter as the winner thanks to The Sanders Effect.

Not to diss Sampson who is a beast but to compare a guy on the list:

Unless I'm misreading, Desmond Reid got =1= vote. That's hardly bias except for 1 outlier.

Sampson is having a great year. Jeanty has 1248yds and 18 TDs and averaging 9.9yds/carry. That's exceptional.

No RB in the country has a chance to be in Heisman conversation over Ashton Jeanty so its a moot point. It's a 4 man race Dillon Gabriel, Jeanty, Ward and Hunter (if he's not out for the season).

Jeanty has already rushed for over 1200 yards..and 17 rushing TD's and has a receiving TD just to spice it up. The only way any RB catches up to his stats is if he literally stops playing now. Dude is averaging 9.9ypc and they are likely to end the regular season with their 1 L to Oregon...the only other team with a pulse they play is UNLV.

Desmond Reids deal is he is also receiving back and returner? but even with that he has 8 total TDs so who knows. But as far as RB's Dylan would be tied at second behind Jeanty with Kaleb Johnson from Iowa Stats-wise (937 yards 7.9ypc and 13 total TD's)

That being said if Sampson keeps up his pace of 100 yards and 2td's a game then that's a totally different story especially if we can beat Bama and UGA.

The betting money called and said you have zero clue what you're talking about. I wouldn't take that if I were you.
