I know, I know, this season has a few more months to go. And yes, transfer portal and NIL can help/damage a program a lot in between seasons. That being said, if you had to bet the farm, do you think next years team will be better, worse, or about the same?

Offense will be more stable I believe.

D will take a step back

Basically, everything will even put to about the same. Maybe one game worse record

Linebackers will be another year older.
Edges will still be good
CB will be a strength
Interior will be young at the 2s and 3s
Slaughter needs emerge at safety or move Boo.

Offense will be stout.
Faster offense with Matthews, White, Brazzell leading the way.
Davis and Staes at TE will be lethal and Brame can run a little wildcat QB
Heard returns at LT and a lot of aged guys on the online 2 or 3 years growing…

Nico older and stronger.

Well be one of the best teams in the country.

Will play calling improve? Yea, because more trust in the players

I am not really worried about the defense unless Banks leaves. Nico is gonna be one of the best QBs in the SEC next year. My biggest concern about the team, and call me crazy if you like, is center. We all know Coop makes this offense go. If Elarbee hasn’t coached up a good replacement for next year, this offense could be significantly worse.

The entire Offensive line worry’s me next season. I think we will be about equal on defense won’t have as much depth on the defensive line but the back half including all the linebackers who played the majority of the season will be back. I think another 9-3 10-2 type year. How good it is compared to past teams

Defense = surprising
Offense = also surprising but not in the same way

What’s also surprising is we are 8-1 and if we end up 10-2 we still might not make the playoffs because of the Big10 jokes.

Slow down! Nico as young as he is has put us in a great position but he has to prove he can put some touch on these deep balls. He has throws that dazzle you and then can miss some that are guaranteed points. Have no doubt he is our guy but needs to improve for sure

Would be a nightmare! No way this 10-2 doesn’t deserve the playoffs. Besides Oregon and Ohio state these sec teams would roll everyone else in playoff atmosphere. We’ve just all been beating each other up

Indiana is absolute poop and so is penn st 😂 Vanderbilt might beat both of them at home but they get to play Michigan who doesn’t even know how to throw and Michigan st. Big 10, acc, and big 12 are dog water

We will be OK. We'll get quality portal transfer who WANT to be at the UT. Expect DL and OL additions from Fla., LSU, Mich., and ND. We'll get SEC awed TEs and WRs from USCw, FSU, and possibly either Fresno St., or SD State.

And just how do I know this? During my wandering around the New Mexico desert, I stumbled upon a mostly neglected WWII storage facility. Using my backup .38, I dispatched four rattlers before crawling through a peeled back galvanized steel sheet. Upon entering the facility, I pulled off a rotting silk cover on a hulking shape. I was shocked to see it covered Die Glocke. Curious, I managed to wiggle inside, but bumped against a lever. The thing hummed and shock. I found myself transferred to 2025. Wandering around for 4mos on the UT campus, I saw what would transpire. I reentered Die Glocke, and returned my proper timeline. Now, I did meet an unusually friendly 25yrs old gal. But knowing how accurate my old lady, Shirley is with a tomahawk, and 12 gauge, I knew better than to bring the chick back with me.

I’m sorry you have to live in New Mexico, us Texans are right next door if you wanna make the move. Only stumbling I do is when I’m driving through there and my car suspension and alignment is going out due to crappy roads ;)

We do have a lot of young guys who will be further along in the program but for me the big question is who takes over for Mays? We'll also be replacing the entire O-line outside of Heard.

We will be in the hunt. All set at the most important position. Though talent incoming think will need to hit the portal pretty hard in the trenches, WR and LB

JMO but QB is least of our worries. Have Nico and embarrassment of riches in that room. Biggest factor in Nico advancement is fortifying OL to give him time to throw….and WRs catching the ball…which looke better in H1 vs MST

Should've stopped after the 1st paragraph.

2nd one is just a sad attempt at being funny

I think there are some pretty significant question marks on offense. Offensive line and runningback being the biggest ones. I'm not sold at all on who we have in the wide receiver room.

UT losing a lot on the D-line, especially at DT. I expect them to go to portal for at least 1 DT. They have been very successful in pulling in quality DT's. Will probably pull at least 1 OL also. Noticed Sham getting playing time against MSU, been awhile since we've seen him on the field. We can only hope Satterwhite is ready at center. Camp is still quite a few years away from coming on board.

I think we are good at RB. Look at Bishop and Lewis stepping up this year. Plus we also have Seldon in the wings, but I am getting concerned he will transfer because his freshman year has been a wash due to early injury.

I ain’t betting the farm on anything. But my hope is that Heupel and his staff hits the portal hard and rebuilds/improves this team the way Kiffin has improved Ole Miss by working the portal. If we don’t do the same, no reason to expect improvement, as I see it.

We’ll get to see how a lot of our younger OL guys have been developed next season. On paper, we have the talent and depth there to where it should at least be solid.
