Absolutely; if you're going to lose one, drop it to Vandy in Nashville. A 10-2 resume with wins over Alabama and Georgia surpasses the hypothetical 10-2 resumes of Alabama (wins over Georgia and LSU) as well as Ole Miss (wins over Georgia and South Carolina).

It isn't even about CFB Playoffs, I think beating Georgia (especially in Athens) would get Tennessee over another hump that we haven't surpassed yet.

The scenarios are really hard to place with no divisions, but I think that If we beat UGA and lose to Vandy, I am pretty sure that the SECCG would be a repeat of Texas/Texas A&M, regardless of the outcome of the Texas/ TAMU game in the final week of the regular season.

Due to records against common opponents Tenn has H2H over Bama, so Bama is out of the SECCG in that scenario. And with wins against LSU and Arky, A&M has the better record over common opponents in regards to us and OM.

In this scenario, it would likely be preferable to NOT be in the SECCG with 2 losses, as a loss would likely mean you fall in the final CFP rankings while the idle teams move ahead of you.

We are actually heading towards a chaotic mess IMO. I am also not confident that Texas enters the A&M game with only one loss. They could lose to Arkansas this Saturday and Kentucky matches up well with them.

I want to make the playoffs. Per the talking heads, we need to win out to get it. But, to answer your question. I can stomach a loss at UGA vs a Candy loss anywhere on the planet.

I'd take an 11-1 regular season record and final 51-12 beating of Oregon in the NC game. Not sure why you're talking about a loss to anybody.

We have a shot of the playoff with a UGA loss but a Vandy loss in the last weekend would likely drop us below Ole Miss and Bama who will most likely be right behind us by then in the rankings. This is our first playoff game. That simple, lose and go home. Win and everything is possible. This is 2024 and the season rides on going and playing the game. The way you are taught and with great passion and a warrior intensity. When its over its over. Let the best team with the most execution and fight reap the rewards!

Why? If we go 10-2 then in order for us NOT to get in then Penn State/ Indiana/ Notre Dame and 3 SEC schools---Bama/ OM and A&M would ALL have to go undefeated. (Meaning Indiana would have to lose to another school besides OSU) If VA were to beat ND.... we would be in at 10-2 before we even kick off in Athens. Some you folks dont remember 2007 when LSU got in with 2 losses in a TWO team playoff because 3 teams in front of them got beat in the last 2 weekends....despite getting little help from the SECCG because they beat a 3 loss Tennessee team. Crazy stuff always happens. They did serious math on this before the season and the simulation showed only 2 SEC teams that probably wouldn't get in with two losses. Missouri and OM. They didn't factor in OM having a win over UGA...but they also didn't factor in them losing to KY. At 10-2....I'll put money on one of these teams in the field losing before I worry about UT not getting in.
