Hey Vol Nation,

Just wanted to swing by and wish y'all safe travels for the journey tomorrow. Here's hoping for a hard-fought, injury-free game. I'll be honest, I'm nervous as all get out – it's practically a playoff elimination game, and both teams are feeling the pressure. Beck isn't exactly setting the field on fire lately, and we're not riding the same wave of confidence we've had in recent years. But hey, that's what makes this game great, right? How are ya'll feeling about this one?

Looking forward to eating my weight in food and drinking enough bourbon to calm my nerves. Go Dawgs!

I hope you guys escape injury free. It does have that feeling of having really big playoff implications. The game is liable to come down to the last minute with a low score. Going to be hard fought event!!! Have an Old Fashioned for me!!!!

I think the Dawgs will win. Kirby always gets em up for the occasion and it’s at home at night.
IMO, there are too many variables for the Vols to overcome. I just hope both teams come out of it with no new injuries. I hope the Vols pull it out, but I’m just not feeling it this late in the season.

Home field will be an advantage if the crowd shows up. Weather calls for rain which I think helps you all in more ways than with just the crowd. Kirby will have them ready but I'm not sure if we are the same caliber team with so many injuries. Our OL, RB's, and WR's have been decimated with injuries. Going to be a good one for sure.

Thanks and best wishes to you. I think both defenses will make it incredibly hard on the offenses that are already plagued by injuries. Neither Offensive Coordinator Halzle or Bobo is getting praise from what's been underwhelming offensive production from either side. I will say Beck has taken alot of heat from the turnover bug but Dylan Sampson has clearly got an issue here lately too. I think it will come down to who gets the turnover over in the right spot meaning either momentous part of game or especially on their own side of field which will turn into points.

The deciding factor at this point to me is clearly 2 things Can Tennessee do enough to get relief from Georgia's crowd. Everyone as you have mentioned knows the consequences of losing this game so to stay in the SEC Championship and playoff race it's milestone win. The other thing is Kirby is ad s good as it gets in second half adjustments. Heupel this year's first halfs have been bad against opponents with a pulse. If that happens again I am not sure his adjustments will be able to match Smarts. So it's imperative Tennessee does not find itself down 9 or more points at the half. I don't think we can rally two scores to come back.

Right now I am expecting like a 14-13 game as odd as that sounds which means tossup but I am expecting to get my heart broken and it be Georgia's favor as things have not shown we can beat Georgia in quite some time and especially on your field. I'll be rooting like heck for an upset. Go Vols!

No idea . Heupel has either beaten or played everyone very close in the SEC, w/ one exception. You guys have had our number more than anyone, but you seem vulnerable. I have to see it before I believe we will win. I’m taking the under in this game. Could be a rock fight .

Smart bet. 48.5 is waaaay too high over/under, imo.

I know we're supposed to be this high flying tempo offense but my grandparents lived in Pittsburgh and I grew up watching the Steelers and Browns beat the hell out of each other in games that would wind up 13-10 or something like that. So I'm looking forward to this weekend 😄

Honestly, nothing will surprise me this weekend. I am expecting UGA to win, but it wouldnt surprise me if they show up the first 10mins then get blown out by an offense that finally clicks. Also wouldnt surprise me if TN gets blown out by an offense that has struggled all season. Could be 3-3 going into the 4th qtr, or could be 24-6 who knows. I hope its injury free and the refs dont try to screw over one team or the other. Best of luck to my vols, your dogs can go wimper in the rain ;)

Very good assessments. Defense and adjustments will decide the game. I would also like to add a couple things;
1. Line Play. Our OL has been very bad against AL and OM. If you can pressure Beck it leads to turnovers
2. Unknowns. Feels like there is always someone who breaks out/holds up in these late season games. We have a freshman RB Dwight Phillips Jr. (Peanut) that may do just that.

I also hope for no injuries. This game feels like it’s going to be a dog fight all the way and I think both squads limp out of this one with less depth than when they entered. It’s a beautiful sport, but it’s not for the feint of heart.
Agreed, always a tough, physical game. We have a history of bad injuries against you guys. Chubb being the most tragic.

Got no idea what to expect. UGA is beatable, but we are a very slow starting offense and have a tough time on the road. UGA is always tough at home. Gotta have a few breaks go our way early to take the crowd out. This is a pick em. 60 mins of nerve racking, frustrating football.
Agreed. Nervous eating, drinking, and praying will be the theme of my event.

Shy Tuttle is the worst hit I can remember watching from the Vols side. When neither team can rely on their pass game, it’s going to be a hard fought affair.

You have no idea how grateful I am for our recent success. I am old enough to remember getting demolished by you guys in the 90's. Keeps me humble.

Thank you for your post. I think this game could go either way. I think it's going to be closer than Vegas is projecting. One one hand, GA looks beatable and I'm wondering how the loss of Etienne will affect the running game for GA. Beck has been inconsistent but so has Iamaleava. On paper I think GA is the more talented team. Is our QB even going to play? His "questionable" status is puzzling. He had a good game where our WRs dropped several key passes. Then he had a game where WR were open all day and he couldn't hit them. I think it all depends on which team is going to have their better day. It might come down to TO ratio and a few big plays. I think I feel a lot like you...excited but not too confident! 🤣

Welcome! I’m excited about the game, been waiting with great anticipation all week. It’s yet another game where I don’t know at all what to expect. Most likely, it will be a close defensive slugfest, but in the back of my mind I know that on the one hand, UGA could come out lathered up and run us out of the building. On the other hand, our offense could continue to click just a little bit more, as it has the past couple weeks, and Beck could turn the ball over, and we could be the ones laying a whooping on y’all. Wouldn’t be surprised by either team winning by 3 points or 3 touchdowns.

I second your hope for an injury-free game. Go Big Orange!

I was in college in the mid-late 90s. We took a lot of wins for granted. Now that we've lived through the decade+ of misery, hopefully I speak for many fellow fans and say we're humble enough to enjoy the good years while they last!

Ain't nothing finer laying in the street
Than a dog named UGA after he's been beat
Come on, we can do better than that.
Underneath the Athens sky, where legends often soar,
The Bulldogs of Georgia, they've opened up a score.
Since '95, when Tennessee led the charge,
The tide it did turn, and UGA was large.

In 2000, when the streak broke in Sanford's domain,
The Bulldogs did rise, and the Vols felt the pain.
With a field stormed by fans, in a moment so sweet,
UGA's victory was quite the treat.

They've danced on the checkerboard, they've howled in the night,
With victories piling, they've proven their might.
Twelve of the last fourteen, no small feat to ignore,
When Georgia plays Tennessee, they've evened the score.

Now, with titles in hand, two national crowns,
They've shown to the world, they're the ones who wear the gowns.
From Bama to TCU, their dominance did gleam,
In this age of Bulldogs, it's UGA who reign supreme

I agree. I think is a slugfest. I think the team with the best OL performance wins it. Neither team moves the ball without protecting the QB. And Im not sure if your describing your qb or ours because the resemblance is uncanny.
