that was crucial to us losing. The D-line’s inability to pressure Beck. Beck just stood back there and waited for guys to work open. Also, our blitzes were just as ineffective as the D-line. Beck and blitzes—I guess that’s 3 things. I’m bad at math like our D line was bad at getting pressure last night.

Despite how they looked against Ole Miss, Georgia has a lot of talent on their OL - four of their five starters are projected to be drafted (when eligible). Coming off a poor performance against Ole Miss they came out and played their best. Georgia also called many plays where Beck got rid of the ball very quickly. And their use of tempo seemed to have caught our D off guard.

Going into the game we were 5th in the SEC in sacks and while we did get some pressure we never got Beck to the ground in the backfield

Did u see the stat they showed during the 4th quarter?! Up to that point we had 3 pressures. That’s terrible that far into the game.

Yea. I think part of that was their quick throws and keeping us off balance. I bet their OL grades out pretty high.

I agree 100%

If you had told me we won’t get any pressure on Beck and he will be able to just stand back there in a clean pocket the whole game waiting for his receivers to get open - no chance to win that game.
The defense needed to impact the game and create turnovers.

Other factor - we were shut out in the second half.

I said a few weeks before this game Beck is a different player when he has pressure on him. Florida showed it then ole Miss showed it again. I will say Georgia’s Oline played good last night.

While you can compare talent, you can't discount home field advantage. Georgia looked as bad at Ole Miss as we looked at Georgia. I had to check my negative feelings about this team when I considered what it must be like to try to perform flawless football when you can't hear yourself think. I am comfortable in saying "Just wait until next time!".

What kills me is that other teams watched what UGA does against us defensively and copies it with success. To which we still have been unable to adjust, btw. We see...or I'd hope we did...what Ole Miss did to UGA defensively and decided to ignore that and just rush 4? Even worse, we didn't come off that approach even as Beck was going PlayStation on our defense. 4 quarters later and we have yet another blown opportunity to file with all our other disappointments.

Would have preferred to catch them before they got manhandled by Old Miss, and not the week after. No way they were going to lay eggs in back to back weeks. Their adjustments worked, our “plan” didn’t.

Beck had all day to let plays develop and make a pass. The inability to pressure him led to our secondary, which is not as talented as their receivers, getting hosed. I think if we could had put more pressure on Beck, we could have had a very close game.

Georgia’s offensive line last night was well prepared, and Kirby did not want a repeat of Ole Miss. After Ole Miss, Kirby knew giving Beck time was going to be a key to winning, and they schemed to make that happen. They got the ball out of his hand quickly and kept extra protection in on deep drop backs. They also seemed to have picked up something on film because it looked like they knew when we were going to blitz and called TE screen plays to counter them.

Yep. He had tons of time and showed how good he is when not pressured
