I don’t think I’ve ever unabashedly rooted for them. I believe this is the first time their winning could directly impact Tennessee in a positive way in all my years of watching. I think they beat Georgia in 03 to allow us to tie for the East, but Georgia wound up going to Atlanta over us anyway. This feels weird.

I’ve rooted for them to beat Florida State in the past. And I’ve rooted for them to beat Georgia a couple times just because Georgia was the heavy favorite.

I recall rooting for them in 2021 against Alabama when they were a 2 pt conversion from pulling the huge upset and in that last SECCG against Bama before the wheels fell off for Mullen.

Why would you ever root for them to beat Florida State?

Living over here in Memphis there a ton of Ole Miss fans. I pretty much always root for whoever is playing Ole Miss especially since Lane Kiffin became their coach. I hate it when they are playing Florida, Alabama or Georgia because I have to decide which team I despise the least. I will definitely be rooting for Florida tomorrow.

With this playoff race, I am rooting for teams i never dreamed of pulling for. I want to see an absolute woodshed game from OSU!

May god have mercy on any UT fans soul for doing that.
Although… if I’m ever in Jacksonville needing Florida to beat Georgia for us to jump them in the standings, I might chomp. But not repeatedly. Just once, leave the arms locked, and then start spinning and thrashing around violently. Like a gator. It’d be worth it to ask people “am I doing this right?”

I find myself rooting for any team to win that will result with chaos in the rankings associated with the teams above us - other than whomever is playing us.

With this expanded playoff it is like high school tie breakers and such at the end of the season where a host of combinations is available to decide who is 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Have you partaken in alcohol when doing this? Because if so you technically can't be held 100% responsible for your actions.

I occasionally hold my nose and pull for them if the result helps the Vols. Otherwise, no.
