There are several schools in the mix with 1 loss. Most have had rinkydink schedules and really have played no one. When they do play someone, they get beat (sometimes badly). Now all I hear is "they only lost one game". It sounds like the same old same old.

Also, tell me this. Tennessee and Texas. More than likely they will also have 2 losses. How is it that they are a lock and we have one foot out and the other on a bar of soap? Georgia went to their home field and stomped a mudhole in them. It wasn't even close. We played them hard in Athens and if a few breaks had gone our way.... So how are they automatic and we are not? Isn't our SOS higher than theirs'?

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

They keep changing their expectations and standards (if they even had any at all). I seriously think those dweebs or cowards or whatever you want to call them are so heavily influenced by media and social media that they can’t even tell which way is up anymore. It’s literally a jury deliberation and it should be hung everytime no pun intended based on who likes what the most.

And the very most proof and case of my point is the mighty itty bitty alabama dollar general brand detergent tide. They are 8-3 and still right there ready to jump Tennessee if what they want happens, happens. Hell Bama could be 7-5 and still #14 in the cfp.

I know fans like to see them and it starts the bragging early on. But I think preseason polls and the regulars season polls shouldn’t come out until mid season. That way a preseason number 1 can maintain that ranking especially if they have a weak schedule and when a loss happens the fall isn’t so far.

We have the exact same SEC opponents on our schedule Texas does, except we played 8-3 Bama at home, and they are traveling to 8-3 A&M. That's the only conference opponent that's different. Out of conference they played Michigan and we played NC State. 3 cupcakes a piece.

Also, beat Vandy and we are in. It's as simple as that, without worrying about Texas.

Does it bother you that we're making fun of them? Lol. I mean, they're probably making fun of us for losing to Arkansas. You think I care?

Edit: my bad, I guess you was talking to the OP. Lol sorry.

Well, we beat Bama. We have not lost at home. We've been in every game.
They lost at home...BADLY. They were never in the game. It was an embarrassing loss.
The question is still why them and not us.

Michigan is not much different than Arkansas. In fact, on a neutral field I would probably take Arkansas.

No, people need to be aware that we played the same schedule they did basically before they light into them about that. Regardless, as I added, if we beat Vandy, we are in without regard to what Texas does. That's literally all we have to do.

Preseason expectations imo. They don't want to look like the might not be as smart as they think.

I don't understand where y'all are getting this idea that it's some sort of either/or between us and Texas. Pretty much everyone agrees that after this past weekend's events, we are getting in regardless if we beat Vandy. To hell with Texas, what happens with them doesn't effect us in the slightest now. Right now they only have 1 loss, that's why they are ranked above us, if they end up with 2 losses they'll probably drop below us, not that it will matter as far as us getting in.

We played Bama. That's a pretty big difference. I know they're 8-3, but they still have Saban's players. They also have a win over UGA.

They have one less loss than us. They also beat a team that beat us. And our schedules are virtually the same, except we got Bama and they got A&M.

In any case, we are in if we win Saturday. If we lose, we can only blame ourselves for losing to Arkansas and Vanderbilt. Texas in particular beat those teams, so we would have no argument to get in over them with us having more losses and with them being undefeated against common opponents.

Oh "flawed" my ass. There is no perfect "unflawed" standard. Any team can, many teams have, and more teams will chit the bed.
Lol, stop it. You know good and damn well all those years we had the 3 stooges Dooley, Butch and Pruitt all the Bama, Georgia and Florida fans were on their boards taking up for us and arguing with each other about them beating us wasn't a big deal because we sucked so bad. Probably didn't even count them as wins.

Hell I'm just glad the OU and UF games are good wins again.

Hang around here long enough and somebody will try to beat some metric into your head (hope it aint a wrench).

But you know what? Dem SAE tools dont work on my hyundai, only metric.

Seriously, I wonder if Bama and gater fans did the same on their boards when they were whipping up on us 11/14 years in a row?? I bet it wasn't as much if they did at all. "We" do it all the time.

They're 8-3 man. They've lost to 2 unranked teams, which is more unranked teams than Nick Saban lost to in 15 years. This ain't vintage Bama and you know it. You can lie to me, don't lie to yourself.

I don't GAF about vintage Bama.

The problem is this notion that there's such a thing as a "complete," "unflawed" team.

In this era of NIL, any team can lose every week.

"Vintage" as a CFB concept might be gone. It's not the same.
