With their latest projections they have Ohio State at 6 and us at 7. That would have them as the last team hosting and us going on the road to Columbus.

Their reasoning is that Ohio State has 2 “statement” wins- Penn State and Indiana while we only have 1.

I’m happy with going to whip them at their place- just wild how ESPN is trying to justify the masses towards them.

(I realize a lot can and will change- but they dropped 6 spots with their first loss last year. Now losing at home to a .500 team they think they should only drop 4)

For comparison, here are recent instances where teams lost on the road and where they fell the following week:

TN lost at Georgia - from #7 to #11
IU lost at OSU - from #5 to #10
Miami lost at GaTech - from #4 to #9

These were all road losses and the teams dropped 4-5 spots. TN and IU had road losses to ranked teams. OSU team favored by 3 TDs lost to unranked Michigan at home… the committee should should absolutely drop them at least 6-7 spots… but they won’t.

Here’s to hoping the committee leader from the team up north gets in one last punch in the postgame fight ..

The teams seeded five through eight are hosting, but given the nature of byes you’re going to have two conference champions ranked outside of the top eight that push other teams down.

We need Oregon to destroy Penn State and Texas to blow up Georgia if we want a chance at hosting unless OSU somehow falls behind us.
