I'm a little surprised we were that high on offense. I guess those OOC beefed up the averages.

I was surprised as well. But not only OOC padding, but rushing. For instance, we rushed 281 yards against Vandy yesterday, leading the SEC in rushing for the year, and having the #2 offense in the SEC for the year.

Those things help as well.

The only offensive stat that really got propped up by nonconference opponents was scoring offense. We averaged 397 yards per game against SEC teams this year. We also put up 460 against a bowl eligible P4 team. Before anyone completely craps on NC State as a terrible team, keep in mind, they missed a potential game winning field goal by about a foot at Georgia Tech the week before Tech had Georgia beat in Athens.

Why do people say this when every other team stat padded against 3-4 nobodies or played in worst conferences

At the end of the day our top 10 offense is just as legit as the others. We stopped ourselves on offense with turnovers in the end zone or terrible dumb penalties. We also had 3-4 games we could have easily scored at the end of the game but took a knee

I think it’s the second or third time JH offense has lead sec in rushing. No accident…you’d figure 5*s would be lining up for us…not that who we’ve got isn’t really good.

Are there 5* RBs these days?

Honestly can't recall one being mentioned anywhere in quite a while.

QBs, DL, O Line, DBs, and safeties usually compromise the bulk due to the way the game is played these days.

Think it’s just been the eye test. Yesterday’s game is kinda what we’ve been trending to in the last 2-3 games with gash plays. We play like we did yesterday without early mishaps and we are solidly in this thing!
I believe most expectations were to copy 2022. That just wasn't gonna happen with a QB in his first season starting and receivers who are not Tillman & Hyatt
He is maturing game by game, the offense is hitting some big plays each game.
