In-game traditions

We don’t have a ton of those.
Like everyone, we chant Dee-Fense sometimes on 3rdr and 4th downs but we primarily just scream.
Everyone stands and screams when Vols run thru the T the band makes before the game.
Sometimes we chant…Let’s Go Vols…or Go Big Orange.
Near the end of games when it’s apparent we’ve won or walking out of the stadium, many will chant…
“it’s Great to be a Tennessee Vol”.

Oh, and during the many times that the band plays Rocky Top, you should sing along during the chorus part…
There is a place for a pause during this part, some people prefer to fill that pause by yelling “WOO”…others consider that blasphemy and just respect the silent pause without yelling woo or anything else.

When you haven't been to a game before there is a tradition where the new person has to chant
CANT ARREST US ALL,
WE ALL SNUCK IN JACK
I STUMBLE AND I FALL
AND WE'RE ALL GONNA CLAP
The whole section will follow your lead and clap 3 times at the end and you're expected to do this as a first timer or you'll get weird looks

Well for one, Joker and the Thief is Tennessee's fight song now. I wish I was joking, but you'll hear it just about as much as Rocky Top.

There used to be a few other things, but it's mostly just canned recorded music and recordings of the PA guy saying "it's thiiiiiiiiiiird doooooooooown" these days. Well, it may not be recorded, I don't know, but it sure feels like it sometimes. It all feels recorded. Welcome to the Jungle, Third Down for What, so on, so forth. At least Third Down for What sort of started at Tennessee, I guess.

They're trying to make everyone sing some song between the 3rd and 4th quarters but that's not really a tradition, just a manufactured thing that hopefully won't take.

The band still gets to play from time to time, but not half as much as they used to.

DO NOT SIT DOWN!!!!!!!
And if someone with blue hair tells you to sit down and quit yelling in her 👂, you say…
“Listen, you old bee-yotch, this is a playoff game and I shelled out a fortune to see this…if you want quiet entertainment, get your arse out of here and go to the opera…and, may you have a blessed day.”.
