Best young QB

What young QB in the SEC has best season next year? Nico, Sellers, Lagway, Manning, . Gone blank on the names of Miss St QB, Georgia QB , Texas AM QB.
Manning looks good, has a great team around him, and a much better than average pedigree.

Nico is growing up, has a high ceiling, a great coach, and a great supporting cast.

Lagway is naturally talented. A lot of positives coming out of that program in the last two weeks...but will it stick?

Sellers is very talented. He does not have the supporting staff and is going to be injury prone with the way he plays.

I’m obviously biased, but the ball Nico throws just looks different. It looks like a laser. And reminds me of Justin Herbert when he was at Oregon.

I still think that Nico could very possibly go #1 in the NFL draft after 1-2 more seasons at UT.

I wouldn’t trade him for any QB in the country.

I would put Nico, Sellers, and Lagway in the top tier. Manning is 1B. He has all the talent but not the experience for this tier. Van Buren and Reed are probably tier 2. I’d but Arnold from Oklahoma there, too, but I like his upside.

Rashada is a complete unknown, and Wimsatt from UK is, too.

It will be interesting to see what happens at Bama, Ole Miss, LSU, UGA, Mizzou. Lots of QB talent graduating or expected to leave.

If he has a break out year next season then he’s gone In 26. McIntyre and Faizon will be battling for the job fall of 26.

All the QBs listed are talented in different ways with different core strengths.

What will separate them will be what has been mentioned: coaching and development.

But the great ones have a work ethic with film study . . . And the ability to read defenses and go through their progressions and hit 2nd and 3rd options while protecting the ball.

Nico has the arm talent I think. And he is a competitor. The question is will he develop in reading defenses / going through progressions / etc?

I think it’s Manning just because of the talent surrounding him and they will probably have another cake walk schedule. We’re likely breaking in a new line and will have a fairly difficult schedule.
Agreed. The OL and the deep ball being a work in progress is why I can't pick Nico. The good news is that the OL at least has some potential. If Satterwhite and J. Heard develop nicely, this wouldn't be bad. J Heard could POTENTIALLY be better than Campbell/Davis. He at least looks athletic enough to be better.

LT - L. Heard
LG - Karic (if he returns for 6th year)
C - Satterwhite
RG - Umarov
RT - J. Heard

The other good news is that there will be options in the portal again.

Yeah I think we’ll be good eventually next year and we’ll still have a good season but there will be some struggles imo for the offense early on.

Lot of folks are hyping up Lagway....but I just am not so sure about him yet. He has made some athletic splash plays, but he looked pretty pedestrian against us. His UGA performance was his high water mark, while I think he took advantage of questionable secondaries with LSU and Ole Miss.

He threw a bullet on the game tying TD against us. Plus, he is a true freshman

If Sellers is still in the SEC, I would say him now that he is settled in. However Nico is improving. Manning will do well also. Considering how average SEC QB has been this year, next year should be really good.

Nah lagway has some god given gifts that just wow you… that will be Nico’s biggest test next year even more than bama imo to go into the swamp our worst road venue historically and get a W vs a very talented Qb… our defense will have their hands full but I don’t want to think that far ahead… I truly believe we have the roster to win it all this year and I’ve said it since preseason.

I think he hasn’t looked as quite good as some say, but against us he came in and drove them down the field to throw a strike to tie the game in the waning moments and then went on to perform pretty well, or well enough to win, against some fairly good teams despite not having a great team around him. If you’re a Gator fan, you’re probably rather encouraged by what you have seen.

I am not sure which QB has the better season next year but Nico & Arch probably have the best chances because of who their coaches are. I trust Heupel and Sark more to develop the talent they have instead of Napier and Beamer. Now with that being said, Sellers may have the best upside of them all but Beamer has shown that he is due for a bad year when you look at his track record at SCAR. Lagway is a great young talent as well.

1a Nico 1b Arch
2 Sellers is not far behind
3 Lagway

Nico is the best currently, but that's really just because he's started all year so he's got an experience factor over the rest. Arch has played great with limited time, Lagway has improved significantly over the 2nd half of the season. Sellers is also good, and the best runner of any of them. I guess we need to inside Jackson Arnold, but he's certainly last of this group. Van Buren is also solid given the circumstances.

I'll go Nico, Sellers, Arch, Lagway, Van Buren, Arnold.
