Alabama is a better team than Miami. They played a tougher schedule. Had better wins. And will be favored by Vegas to do better in the playoffs than Miami.

You can hate Bama all you want but these are the facts. The committee got it right. They deserve to be in over Miami.

I think Ole Miss is the better team and has the higher ceiling . Yes the UK game is an albatross around their neck, but Bama lost to a bad OU team 2 weeks ago by 3 scores for loss # 3.

The consternation about Alabama getting in over Miami is mostly that Alabama is never punished for losses that would drag down other teams. Losing to Vanderbilt, getting annihilated by a mediocre Oklahoma -- either of these would disqualify another team, but not Bama. Neither of Miami's losses are as bad as those two. I think it's clear the committee is mostly focused on horse trading between the SEC and the Big Ten:
Bama gets in but the Big Ten gets to host two first round games.

Well they've earned that benefit of the doubt given they've been the most dominant program in the sport for the last 15 years.

Let's just put it this way. Would you rather face Miami or Alabama in the playoffs? If the answer is Miami then the committee got it right putting the better team in the tournament despite having more losses.

Sorry. Don't agree. They have 3 losses compared to 2. Your reasoning that Bama is a "better" team than UM is speculation. The W-L records are fact. They'd have to play on the field to truly know who's better. I have no doubt that UM would have a good chance to beat Bama. Bama lost by 21 pts to OU. C'mon.

They haven't earned jack. Their coach has only lost in the playoffs, and the same is true for all of their players. None of them had any part in this fictional "earning" you mention, and if you switch the jerseys for Mississippi jerseys they'd be in the same position as Ole Miss (with the same big wins and similar bad losses). I would rather not have anybody face Alabama in the playoffs, but I'm certain their place there has less to do with what they've accomplished this year and more to do with the politics of the committee.

Well if that's the case then should we be ranked below SMU, Indiana, and Boise State? Considering they're 11-1 teams and we're just 10-2.

You can't have it both ways. You can't whine about us not getting a home game and then talk about wins and losses to justify keeping Alabama out. Yall are letting your emotions guide you rather than logic.

They have 3 wins over ranked opponents. No other team has more in the entire country. You can hate Alabama all you want but the facts are the facts. They have the best resume of all the teams who were in contention for that final spot.

That's a better argument than your first one, though I still reject it. At some point we need to recognize that this is a team that can't stop the run and can't rely on their quarterback.

Nobody said they're a team without flaws. Every team competing for that final spot has flaws. The question is which team has the least flaws. And that's clearly Alabama. There's a reason they're only 3.5 point underdogs at Notre Dame right now according to Vegas. On neutral field they're considered a toss-up against the #4 team in the country. I'm sure Miami would be a heavier underdog against Notre Dame if they were in.

Did you really just say they earned the benefit of the doubt... Geezus if we're going by what you said then they shouldn't get the benefit because Saban isn't the coach there anymore
If we're going by looks better than SC has a legit gripe as they've been playing solid the last few weeks. Again Bama got tore into by OU

If you lose to Vandy (don't care how good they are blah blah) you should be banned from the playoff's for the next 3 years.

It's not about getting the best teams in the playoff or seeding them by what is right or fair and it never will be. It always will be about money. That is why Bama is in over Miami, South Carolina and Ole Miss right now. Head to head Bama probably beats Miami, but you cannot convince me Bama beats USCe or Ole Miss right now. Both of them what be better teams to put in the playoff, but again, it's about brand name and money.

Not to mention getting beaten like a rented mule by an Oklahoma team that couldn’t get out of its own way all year. Bama is in right now because of the brand and Sankey pressured the committee to get them in over Ole Miss. He wants that 4th SEC team in and Bama is an easier sell.

They also had worst and more losses than Miami. No 3 loss team that got blown out at OU and Vandy ran up and down the field on them.

Nothing Bama has done tells me they are head and shoulders above Miami.

Miami racks up points. Their two losses are by a combined 9 points to GA Tech who took UGA to 8 OTs in Athens and Syracuse whose went 9-3.

Bamas biggest win is UGA, in which they choked away a big lead and needed a video game catch and run from a 17 year old to finish it off. Then promptly lost ugly to Vandy.

This isn’t the Bama of old.

I'd rather play Alabama since we already wiped the floor with them. We don't have the offense to keep up with Miami.
