Just some observations from an older person who doesn't know a screen from a bootleg! Just some personal overall observations from a died in the wool fan. First of all I think Tennessee had a marvelous season. Many of us did not expect a 10 win season. The coaching staff and athletes have done a great job and I am proud of them. I'm not too fussy about whether we play a home game or road game in the playoffs. We lost 2 games this year. Arkansas outplayed us and Georgia defeated us in the 2nd half of that game. On the other hand we won a tight game against Florida. I do believe that the Vols can go deep into the playoffs if all the parts of our game play to their best. We are a good team, possibly very good and we are now a contender. Good luck to all the players and coaches on a wonderful season!

A very refreshing post. Positivity and rational thinking are rare these days it seems. Thank you

All good points. Really bad Arkansas loss put us on the road in the first round. i thought we would be 9-3 but also think expectations have to reset as the season goes. Disappointing now to not be 11-1. Bama and OK are not as good as we thought they were preseason. Still a great year and hopefully we can figure out how to win a big game on the road. GBO

Going undefeated in SEC conference play is a difficult task, no matter who you are.
With OT, someone is losing in every single game. And in the SEC you never take for granted who that might be. And ometimes that's not even enough.

Another "old fart" who concurs with your analysis of the season. From here on it's all gravy. We are in the CFP, road game or not. I remember the days Vol fans were excited about the Bluebonnet Bowl!! Yes we'll all be disappointed if we falter in the first round but don't lose sight of the big picture. Vol football is in a better place than in many years and still look to be on an upward trajectory. Enjoy the ride for tomorrow is not guaranteed!!
